Student to appear on VH1
After spending three weeks in Los Angeles, a UF sophomore is getting a chance to shine.
Allison Miller, a theater major, will compete to win the role of Laurie Partridge in an episode of VH1’s reality television series “In Search of the Partridge Family.”
The purpose of the series is to find the cast for a musical sitcom based on the 1970s hit TV show “The Partridge Family.”
Miller will compete against seven other contestants and will be judged on how much they look like Laurie Partridge and on their acting and singing.
Sunday night, the judges will narrow the Laurie contestants down to three. Miller said she has Laurie Partridge’s style: “not a lot of makeup, just really natural.”
Miller appeared on the audition special earlier this month.
“It was pretty exciting on the first episode because the judges were saying she’s the cutest one out there,” said Matthew Reeves, Miller’s boyfriend and a UF sophomore. “Hopefully, she’ll have a good shot coming up this week.”
Miller’s sorority, Kappa Delta, is also very supportive, and the sisters plan to watch together.
“Our house is so proud of her, and we will continue to support her in any way we can,” said Beth Madigan, one of her sisters.
The show airs on VH1 on Sunday at 9 p.m.
