i don't doubt you- and its awesome that you think you are ready for a girlfriend most guys aren't or aren't willing to have one...
i've never had a real true boyfriend before... b/c i like to pick jerks- or we just don't work...i've dated a lot- but nothing serious..
i'm guess i shouldn't be giving you advice...however, i am a girl still. and since i've beenlooking for awhile the only advice i can give you is that you can't look for it at all. sounds weird- and you've probably heard this before. but, its true... don't look for the girl and while your spending time doing your own thing- partying- with your bro's- going to school and making your life the best that you can- then your girl will eventually fit right it....
it sucks doesn't it? i know- its frustrating- but it will happen- and when it does- try not to mess it up... how do you do this? well for one... try not to play games (but don't like confess your love to her within the first..days..weeks... or even the first like month or so... that might freak her out) surprise her with kisses and littel surprises or random phone calls to let her know that you miss her and are thinking about her- or just to tell her good luck and have a good day- pick her up from class unexpectantly- and you don't have to shower a girl with gifts... its the other things that matter- like spending time with them... even on stupid aniverseries- getting a small bouquet is so much better then something expensive- you don't want a girl after your money and then you end up feeling used... don't ever let someone take advantage of your generosity...
but don't give up on hanging with your boys- i don't want a guy in my face all the time- and the time you spend apart will make the time you spend together that much sweeter...

but good luck- and don't become discouraged- it will work out display your sense of humour and be yourself (i know from experience the better friends i am with a guy and the more fun i have with him makes him 100 percent more attractive- and it makes for a longer relationship too)
