I was born in '74 and I remember Isis. (Didn't she come on with the Shazzam hour). I remember going outside, calling "Oh my mighty Isis", and waiting for the winds to pick me up and let me fly just like Isis did on TV.

But I think I'll have to cast my vote for Wonder Woman. She could swim, bend steel objects, leap tall buildings, make men tell the truth with her magic lasso, and could still hold her job with the federal government.

You know, now that I think about it. Florida Evans was the first Black Super Heroine(well besides our mamas).
Okay, I change my mind... she was a Zeta. R.I.P.

Bklyndelta I am feeling you on "Florida Evans". Good Times is an all time favorite of mine!!
I used to love Wonderwoman; tried not to miss an episode. I even had a couple pairs of Wonder Roos. Does anyone remember those????
Sterling, I vaguely remember "Oh Mighty Isis", this may have been a little before my time. *HUG*LOL*HUG*LOL

Have a BLESSED evening everyone

Okay I have to post a reply to this topic...I must say that at one point in time I thought i WAS Wonderwoman...I had the underoos...and the RED boots...I had the Halloween costume and everything...at one point my Grandmother had to keep my from jumping off the furniture with my underoos and red boots along with my wonderwoman towel thinking that I could fly...needless to say I had a very VIVID imagination!..

Mamabuddha I say NEITHER ONE!! Everyone knows that Florida Evans from "Goodtimes" was the all-time favorite superheroine. She held the family together, before and after the death of James!! LOL LOL

Is this before everyone's time too????

Thumbs up

Conspiracy2: RIGHT? Remeber how the opening title used to be cartoons? And you'd see Linda Carter do that slow motion jump from a building? And her little sister? And the song? "Wonder womaaaaaaan! Wonder Womaaaaaaaan!" Loved that song. Underoos and ALL, girl, used to piss my mom off (idolizing a white girl), but it was her and Princess Leia for a WHILE.

But I was always, ALWAYS a Cleo Jones fan.
She could dress, had a FLY ride, and guns everywhere! PLUS, her MAN waited for her. And she took Shirley Jones down! ROFL

If I gotta pick between the two in the question, though, I'd be Xena, cuz she can leap, throw that circle, and her baby brought the gods to ruin. Hers is a human strength, not reliant upon magic or an invisible plane.

Now, you know my next question, right?

HOW THE HECK could a White Amazon flying through the air in a sitting position NOT be targetted by the AIR FORCE and shot down? Am I missing something? Cuz I would notice a woman in red, white, blue and gold "sitting" in the clear blue sky...

When I think about heroines I think about Isis and Christy Love. I remember playing cleo jones when I was a young'um.
I hope I'm not the oldest person on this board!

well, my vote is definitely wonderwoman...Linda Carter was a Bad chic...

i like her so much i memorized the song::

Wonder Womaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
Wonder Womaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

All the world is waiting for you
and the power you possess
In your satin tights
fighting for your rights
And the old red white and blue

Wonder Womaaaaaaaaaaaan!
Wonder Womaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

Now the world is ready for you
and the wonders you can do
Make a hawk a dove
stop a war with love
Make a liar tell the truth

Wonder Woman!
Get us out from under, Wonder Womaaaaaaan

All our hopes are pinned upon you
and the magic that you do
Stop a bullet cold
make the axis fold
change their minds and change the world

Wonder Womaaaaaaan!
Wonder Womaaaaaaaaaaan!

You're a wonder, Wonder Womaaaaaan!
