Kerry on redeployment on US troops abroad

Quote:
Kerry said the redeployment would undermine relations with U.S. allies needed to help fight in Iraq and in the war on terror. It also would endanger national security as the United States is working to deter North Korea's nuclear program, he said.

"Why are we unilaterally withdrawing 12,000 troops from the Korean Peninsula at the very time we are negotiating with North Korea — a country that really has nuclear weapons?" he said.

Kerry also said the redeployment does nothing to relieve the problem of an overextended military in Iraq.

Kerry's campaign cited a three-month-old Congressional Budget Office report that said pulling back troops from overseas would produce at best only small improvements in the United States' ability to respond to far-flung conflicts. The report also said a large reduction of the U.S. military presence overseas could cost $7 billion up front, although annual savings could be more than $1 billion.

So.. 12,000 US troops will break negotiations with North Korea.. are you kidding me.. hell our total force is 37,000 and is nothing more than a friggen speed look at me raise my post!! to the onslaught that the North Koreans would unleash.

How does redeployment do nothing to relieve an over extended military. Are you kidding me. Well lets see.. it FREES UP TROOPS. Wasn't Kerry an officer in the military, what the hell happened is one of those purple hearts from being dropped on his head. Cause "it does nothing" is just moronic. I guess small improvements arent good enough for him so we just shouldnt do it at all, is that what he's implying?

Save a billion dollars every year by spending 7 now. Well lets look at this logically, even kerry says it would provide a small improvement in our military, and the gov saves a billion every year. Do we see a reason that these troops would be needed in germany (where most of the redeployment troops will come from) in the next 7 years. I doubt it.. any where in europe that our troops will be needed, not likely. North Korea, well its possible we might need troops there, but removing 12,000 is not going to hurt. In most war scenarios, even with full stength that is currently there, these guys are basically going to be over run. So yes.. SAVE US MONEY.

Kerry either is playing on the ignorance of the voters, or is just ignonrant himself.

If he'd attended his committee meetings, he'd know this stuff.
