Kobe Bryant Plans To Marry

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Some sad news for young, single women in the Los Angeles area surfaced Thursday - Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is engaged.

Bryant confirmed his plans after practice, but refused to identify his future bride.

He did say, however, she's not an athlete or actress.

"She's my movie star, she's my star," Bryant, 21, said. "She gives me balance, in the past, I've been pretty much all basketball."

A member of the Lakers' organization, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Bryant is engaged to an 18-year-old woman from Orange County.

The Lakers face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday in the opener of the Western Conference finals. Bryant said no date has been set for the wedding, but it will be after the NBA Finals next month.

During the game yesterday, the commentators did name his fiance', but by me not being a Kobe fan, I didn't pay that much attention.

Since the Sixers and my man Allen didn't make it into the next round, I guess I'll have to watch Rick Fox and the Lakers! (well, actually just Rick )

My cousin lives in LA and they showed a picture of her on the news. He said she looked white or hispanic, but she definitely wasn't a sister. I don't mean to sound insensitive or politically incorrect, but I have to say that I am disappointed in the fact that he is not marrying a black woman.

From my understanding, she is an 18-year old girl that attends Marina High School in Huntington Beach, CA. I wonder if he is attending her prom on June 3rd?
(Those of you who are upset about the news of him marring her, please don't go to express the fact that he should be with you )

Many have seen her yearbook photo via the news, it was plastered all over NBC and ABC, (I haven't seen it) and those who have said that she looked either Mexican or Filipino.

She has a 7 karat engagement ring and a mercedes

Because Mexicans and Filipino's are NOT sisters by any stretch of the imagination.

NO KOBE NO!!! I saw this on the news and I saw her picture. I'm not gonna hate. She is a pretty girl. I think she is latino, but you can never really tell until someone tells you what their nationality is.
