The Exorcist

So the original Exorcist movie scared the pants off of me b/c I was only 5 when I watched it with my sisters who were in their teens. To this day, I'm 25 & still can't watch that movie b/c it freaks me out.

I recently saw the trailer for the new Exorcist movie. It's supposed to be the prequel to where it all began. I'm not sure I'll be watching that one either. Too freaky for me. Is anyone else going to see it or not?

I have a friend who swore that this story actually happened somewhere in St. Louis. I wasn't sure if I believed him but he insisited that it was true b/c he used to live near there & he claimed that the house where it actually happened was boarded up for a long time before being demolished. To this day, he claims that the spot where the house once stood is now just an empty lot (like in the movie Carrie).

That movie really freaked me out. Remmember after watching it, I kept on looking at my sister expecting to see her head twist like in the movie.

For me, that movie wasn't scary at all. Perhaps if I had watched it when I was 5 instead of at 14 I might have had a different reaction to it. It actually took me several attempts tog et through it because everythim I tried to watch it I would fall asleep. Yeah, I thought it was a little boring.
I think I'll see this prequel when it comes out.

I remember that after watching that movie, I did not want my sister sleeping in my same room b/c I too kept waiting for her head to spin around & for her to start levitating off the bed.

In 1949, the Washington Post reported that a local suburban boy had been exorcised of demons by priests in St. Louis.

Whether or not you believe that it was actually an exorcism is up to you, but the story was indeed reported, and the boy is real. He was even treated at Georgetown University Hospital for a while, which is how the author of "The Exorcist" first learned about the story.
