Until the Television Writers Return to Work

What are you doing to occupy your time? Have you discovered repeats of shows you ordinarily did not watch? Have you taken on a new hobby?

Last night, I noticed MTV2 shows Friday: The Animated Series. Ice Cube is one of the Executive Directors and is based on the film. The same characters are depicted, but their voices are not used. Cree Summer (Freddie) from ADW does voiceovers. I probably would not watch, but since there isn't too much on, I caught the last 10 minutes of the second episode.

...I'm starting to get ready to send out Christmas cards

I've not been that affected by the strike; most of my television watching, when I'm even home that is, is news programming, documentaries, sports or syndicated shows (Everybody Loves Raymond, etc...)

^^^ I just found a set of Xmas cards from many moons ago. Those will go out. And I've found quite a few blogs that are quite entertaining and enlightening.

There are too many reality shows on for audiences to be severely affected by the strike. If the strike had happened before the end of the last season of Grey's Anatomy (while Isaiah Washington was still on), I might've freaked a bit, but I'm not deprived at all.

Besides, there's too much on cable (VH1, MTV, BET, etc), and you always have YouTube and other websites. We should be fine.

I have EIGHT boxes of Christmas cards. I will be working on those for the next few weeks. And I've gotten into Planet Earth on Discovery channel, which is a GREAT show. If I get really bored, I will just stay at work later and earn some comp or overtime. :P

I don't know about y'all, but none of my shows are in repeats yet, and some, like The Wire, won't be affected by the strike.

That means subscribing to premium channels. I'll pass. I only watched a few network shows. Most of my time was spent on repeats anyway from TVLand, Comedy Central, USA, WGN, TVOne.

The TV strike never really affected me. The only shows that I watch that are in a current season are House, Greys, and Private Practice when I remember its on. Other than that I probably one of my many TV series DVD's or one of my fave movies or playing video games of some sort.

urm I don't watch sitcoms much...I tend to stick to low caliber reality tv shows, ones that don't take much talented writing, so they're still on

What about comp time? I am the queen of doing that. I can take mental 1/2days and still get paid (I use comp before I use my annual or sick leave).

The strike hasn't affected me either. But I have over a kazillion channels so when I do watch TV there is always something on ( I work for a cable company ).

I've been reading. I have over 10 books stacked on the bookcase calling my name.

I hadn't been effected yet b/c I DVR everything and then watch weeks later due to my schedule. However the episodes that aired last night (Girlfriends, The Game) were the last new episodes and they were actually supposed to air 2 weeks from yesterday on Christmas Eve. I am obsessed with The Game so that'll be tough for me!
