Weirdest Thing You've Done in the Name of Greek Pride
All righty, what's the craziest thing that you've done for your chapter or system to show your chapter/Greek pride?

Well we have this copetition every year where all the houses face off against each other called Big Man on Campus. Besides a talent show, there are other parts of the competion including raising money via donating pennys, collecting monetary pledges, etc. One of them was to buy pops from a local store called the Boilermarket, and whichever house got the most 50 cent pops won that particular competion. I personally went and bout 35 of these, mind you they are not 12 oz cans, but 60 oz big gulp type drinks, within a day... And the house in total spent over 700 dollars that day as well. Needless to say we won that competition, and later the entire BMOC as well.

For Sigma Chi Derby Day here at Ole Miss it is a HUGE Deal, which I'm sure it is at other campuses. Anyway, my senior year, Spring of 2000, I was helping some younger AOIIs with the clues that go to the finding of the Derby Hat that is hidden and anyway...to get to the point...we all sneaked into the KA House that the Deke's were living in (Long story there) and anyway, we came upon a room at the KA house where we were not suppose to be, and so we left because we were scared and then we got into the Delta Psi House (they weren't living in it at the time) and looked in there...guess what, the Derby Hat was in the Sigma Chi house that year hidden...anyway, it was a riot because there we were a bunch of sorority girls looking for a Derby Hat....
And one time some of us borrowed the SAE composite and put it up in our house....it was joke on one of the house boys at the time...thank heavens they were okay with it...I can't imagine doing that now

Well, this isn't really weird but for Valentines Day, my house decided to make these huge Valentines cards for all the fraternities & sororities on campus. It was fun to sit for hours at the house & bond with my sisters while doing something nice for all Greeks on campus. It also helped in trying to improve relationships that have been severed over the years with the other sororities on campus.

It was pretty cool to then hand deliver all the cards to the individual houses. They were pretty surprised to get large #'s of ladies in full on badge attire walking up their drives & delivering them in person. We had lots of fun! I highly recommend doing this as an activity for a chapter to improve relations with other Greeks & as a way to improve house relations too!

Another derby days story: my freshman year/pledge semester there was an obstacle course. The finish was to pick up a whipped cream plate, run a couple yards and hit one of your coaches with the "pie." While others just kinda brushed the plate up against the coachs' faces, I ended up smacking my coach senseless and the plate stuck to his face for a little while. The sound the plate hitting his face echoed in the courtyard we were in.
I've also been the "tricycle" leg of relays.

What a lovely and genteel way of putting it. Borrowed
We too would "borrow" composites. The sororities would then come to the house and serenade us to get it back. We would then invite them in for an informal party.

I guess the strangest thing I have done was get thrown into the disgusting goose pond p.o.s. sess-pool when I became engaged. But my sisters threw me in, so it wasn't really my own choice. Does that count?

Delta Sig had a Pushball tournament at UT in the 1980's I played and got so mad at a Delt, who was commenting on the state of our chapter ,(Delt at UT had maybe 150 guys we had 80),that I threw the first punch we ended up having a knock down fight, eventually both sidelines cleared and maybe 50 DU's and 60-70 Delts got involved.
Everyone in my chapter thought I was Psycho for a month or two.

Jumped into a freezing cold, dirtynastyicky lake at the end of March for charity. Polar Bear Plunge for Greek Week. Ick!!!
I don't think I've ever taken a longer, hotter, shower than after that experience.
The coolest thing, though? Our 65-year-old house director (who completely rocks) jumped in with us. This classy, gracious, white-haired lady was in her grungies jumping into the lake. It was awesome!!!

A few years back, an unnamed fraternity walked into our house & took our composite from our living room. It was bizarre b/c no one knew who did it & everyone thought we had been broken into until they fessed up to it being a prank. They thought we knew & were in on it. It was weird & the guys in question weren't really punished, just warned. We now have better locks & a metal screen door so people can't just walk in and out anymore.

My chapter and a fraternity had a hopscotch-a-thon to raise money for cystic fibrosis. We played hopscotch for 48 hours. I do not recommend it.
I dressed up as Dino the dinosaur when we played Family Feud as the Flintstones. That was a little embarassing, but it was for a good cause. It was another fundraiser.
I drew the line at wearing lingerie on stage for a fashion show fundraiser.

Not the weirdest thing but the most embarassing thing I ever did was impersonating Britney Spears at a GreekWeek No-Talent Talent Show. My sisters backed me up, we learned our dance from Darrin's Dance Grooves!!

A similar embarassing one- Sigma Chi Derby Days almost 2 years ago...it was their "Mock Rock" night....me and 3 other sisters got up and danced and lip-synched to "Rock You Like a Hurricane." I choreographed this lame, pseudo-sexual dance for us...o god its making me cringe just thinking about it. I think the guys liked it (it wasnt disgusting or anything) but I wish I had come up with something less cheesy! Two of us walked down off the stage and were dancing in front of the guys in the front row and like, throwing our hair back and forth....i have to stop remembering this now....
OH! Comedy Night 2 years ago was pretty painful too! As much as I loved the guys, we were paired with LXA who INSISTED we do this horrible horrible "Man on The Moon" skit (you know that movie about Andy Kaufman?) it involved some guy being that sleazy lounge singer making lame jokes and then some wrestling thing while me and another sister wore evening gowns and stood snapping to the music in the background. How did I always end up doing these things in front of the entire Greek community?? haha
