What do you call it?
Someone mentioned in another post that their rush director was called the membership director...well to me that is the pledgemaster. So what do you call your:
President
Vice President (the one who takes over for the prez if necessary)
Recording Secretary
Treasurer
Person in charge of rituals
Person who plans rush
Person who guides the pledges
If you have more that have names you have to explain, add those too!

I've never heard of a GLO that used the same person for membership (rush director, membership director, sales manager) and fraternity educator (pledge educator.) That sounds like a recipe for failure. "Pledgemaster" usually conotes the person in charge of the pledges during that archaic period of "hellweek."
As for the other positions mentioned, Phi Kappa Psi calls them as follows:
President: President or GP (chapter) or SWGP (national)
Vice President: Vice President or VGP (chapter) or SWVGP (national)
Secretary (national): Secretary or SWAG
Corresponding Secretary (chapter): Corresponding Secretary or AG (chapter)
Recording Secretary (chapter): Recording Secretary or BG (chapter)
Treasurer: Treasurer or P (chapter) or SWP (national)
Person in charge of rituals: Mystagogue
Person who plans rush: Membership Chairman
Person who guides the pledges: Pledge Educator

Re: What do you call it?
President - President
Vice President (the one who takes over for the prez if necessary) We have two: a VP Minor Board who oversee all the offices not on E-Board and a VP Standards who make sures everyone's in good standing and follows the rules. In the line of succession its VP Minor Board and then VP Standards
Recording Secretary - Secretary
Treasurer - Treasurer
Person in charge of rituals - Ritualist
Person who plans rush - Recruitment Chair
Person who guides the pledges - Nationally we're suppose to use the term New Member Educators but old habits die hard so within the chapter we still usually refer to them as Pledge Mistresses - don't tell national!
Most of our names are pretty straight forward now but at least 20 years ago I think we used Dean for president not sure about the rest of the E-board though.

Re: What do you call it?
Tri Delta
President: President
Vice President (the one who takes over for the prez if necessary): I'm pretty sure this is VP administration
Recording Secretary: recording secretary
Treasurer: we have a treasurer and a VP finance that both deal with money -- I think the easiest way to exlain it is VP finance is in charge of the money coming in (dues, etc.) and treasurer is in charge of the money going out (giving money to each officer, etc.)
Person in charge of rituals: ritual chair
Person who plans rush: VP membership
Person who guides the pledges: new member educator

In AST our EC is made up of the following...
President
Vice President
Treasure
Recording Secertary
New Member Educator (or as we call it New Member Mom)
Recruitment Director
Collegiate Alumnae Liasion (CAL)
We have a ritual chair for those who are curious and they are NOT on EC. We also have a COB chair which is basically a recruitment director but who is incharge of ONLY COB events.

Accordint to our governing documents of AOII, the following positions are part of our Leaders Council (our equivalent of an executive board)
Chapter President
VP Administration - this is who takes over for president first
VP Academic Development
VP Education (in charge of overall chapter education)
VP Membership Recruitment (in charge of recruitment/rush)
Corresponding Secretary
Recording Secretary
Chapter Treasurer
Public Relations Chair
Risk Management Chair
Panhellenic Delegate
Chapter Relations Chair - some chapters have this as a VP
New Member Educator - some chapters have this as a VP (in charge of education of new members - kind of a pledge mom)
our person in charge of ritual is called - Keeper of the Ritual
our chapters can add any additional officers to LC by vote of the chapter - such as Philanthropic, Social, or whatever they deem appropriate..

Hello, nationals??
That VP thing must be relatively new. We only had one VP, who both ran standards and oversaw the non-eboard committees (and who took over for the president if she couldn't fulfill her duties). Then again, maybe we only had one because our chapter was small.
