Who hates neighbors?

Let me just say I hate neighbors who think everything is theirs and dont care about anyone but themselves. So we are currently renting a house from a nice man and the neighborhood is awesome as is the town. We wont buy though cause we want to move to NC. Anyways, the house is on 3 acres and there is actually 2 houses on the lot. Well he couldnt rent the big house out cause it needed remodeled. So weve lived here for over a year now without anyone in front of us in the other house.

Well now some jerk off is leasing it and he thinks hes god according to how he talks. When he signed the lease he came up to our house and told us then starts telling us what he wants us to do and Im like um no you arent the landlord screw off, he didnt like me cause I do have attitude and dont take shit. Now hes been bringing things over for a week and putting boxes in his houses garage, but every morn he steals my newspapers. Hes been doing it since Monday. I know cause the hubby leaves and its there down at the bottom of the drive, but I dont get up till much later and when I go down they are gone. That pisses me off.

Then hes been parking in my driveway around back of my house and he has his own, its hard to get into our place now. Ontop of it all I come home about 10 mins ago and noone is here and now he just pulled up and they are moving in, but they told the movers to park their truck in our driveway so we are blocked in and so he isnt. I went out and yelled and hes like oh well you dont need to go anywhere for a few hours. Im like look you dont know what I need to do or not...... I know Im gonna HATE this guy already.........

I am seriously going to go out and tell him off so bad if he doesnt stop all this crap........ Sorry I needed to vent to someone and my hubby is out of the office right now in a meeting so I cant call and yell to him....

GRRRRRRR.

What a jerk! Maybe you could say something to your landlord first before blowing the guy out of the water. I know it would feel better to just tell the jerk off, but your landlord should have to handle that kind of crap.

I don't like neighbors either. The girl who lives underneath me just got a puppy. Now I know puppies bark, but I don't have one and I shouldn't have to listen to hers yap everytime she leaves the house. To top it off, she gives my roommate and I dirty looks whenever we see her and I am thinking, I don't know what you're looking at, your dog is annoying the crap out of us!
But thank the Lord my upstairs neighbors moved out this past weekend! Our floors/cielings are pretty thick and we rarely ever heard the previous people walking around or anything, but I swear the people who just moved out used to run around their apartment and play basketball or something at all hours of the day and night.

I love not having any responsibilities with an apartment but I can't wait until I can live in my own house and don't have people above or below me.

Perhaps you, your husband, the landlord and jerkoff guy can sit down together and make it very clear where he is to park, how he can get his very own newspaper subscription and stuff like that?

Argh I had a nice run in with my neighbors downstairs over the weekend. Every apartment in the complex gets 2 parking spaces and my dad's away so he left his car at my place. My boyfriend came up this past weekend and all the visitor spots were taken (the fact that for over 50 units there are only 8 visitor spots is another issue). My neighbors downstairs only have one car, and so they have an extra spot they never use, and whenever people come over I have them park there. Not once has this been an issue with my neighbors but for some reason on Saturday night they decided to have my bf's car towed at 2 am!!! Luckily I woke up to the noises outside my window and was able to stop the towtruck but they still made us pay the 65 dollar drop fee. I was so pissed off!! It wasnt like they even needed the spot at 2 am, the damn spot stayed empty the entire night and all through Sunday! What irritates me even more is that they love karaoke and they always bust out the song book at like 11-12 pm right when I'm about to hit the sack. I've never once complained and the fact that they called security before even coming upstairs and being like hey can you move the car, really has got me going. Argh! I wish they'd move!!

I have been very lucky with my neighbors. We ignore each other until we get to the elevator and then we say hello.

I would ask the landlord to tell your neighbor where to park. I would tell the neighbor about the newspaper.

I think Im going to call the landlord today to ask to talk to him about this guy. My hubby is gonna be home any time now and I know he wont be able to get into the driveway cause of this moving truck....

As for the papers, I know he did it cause its never been missing for over a year and sometimes well leave for a weekend and come home and all our papers from fri-sun are sitting in the driveway. Its funny cause I know the paper delivery guy and I called him yesterday and hes like yes Ive been delivering the paper, I even saw your hubby going to work the other morn. So today the paper was there and I had to laugh cause we dont have boxes here so they put the papers in a plastic bag and on the bag in HUGE print was 9162 my house number. I laughed when I saw it.

We get a local newspaper once a week in our mail and in it it tells you all about police arrests and stuff and a few weeks back there was one in there for a guy on a bike who stole a ladys newpaper out of her driveway and she followed him and had him arrested for stealing. I lauhged cause my hubbys like lets catch him in the act and have him arrested. I wish I could but I signed another year lease I cant start all that before he even is moved in lol.

i would complain to the landlord. i am sure he will take into account your concerns considering you've been leasing from him for quite some time. explain in a calm matter the issues you are having with your new neighbor. tell the landlord if these issues are not resolved, you will break your lease and move. trust me, the landlord will not want to lose good leasers, especially leasers that have been there for a while.

i had problems with the people who lives behind me a while back. they have a 7000 square foot house (trust me i checked it out when the problem arised). they have this dog and would leave it out all night long and just let it bark until 4 or 5am during the week. well this wouldn't be so much a problem if i didn't work at 6am. because the neighbor's property line comes about 100 feet to my property line, the dog would just sit there and bark.....it was so annoying. finally i got so annoyed that i started to call the police and place noise complaints. they would go out to the house at 2am and tell the people to bring the dog in the house (because that's all the dog wanted!) and after the 2nd call, they start getting fined. well the fined is delayed because it is mailed to the house......so after the 5th or 6th noise complaint from me, these people ended up racking up a $2000 fine and they never leave their dog outside anymore.

before we moved to Iowa (whoo hooo!!!!!!!!!), we had to deal with some nasty new neighbors who had just moved in next door to our house in MD. Our house was seperated by theirs by a long drive that led to their garage, however, the grass that bordered our fence and their driveway was legally ours (we looked into it)...

apparently they didnt...

The Husband started to get very militant with "his" grounds....and he began to cut off my mother's roses that were poking through the fence...even though legally they were still on our property....and he wouldnt even pick them to give to his wife for a centerpiece....no.....they'd just be thrown over the fence into our yard, totally ruined. That wasnt all...we had three pine trees on OUR little bit of land that bordered HIS drive....but I guess that was too much for this guy because he cut ALL THE BRANCHES back to the very border of our lot, as if he was disciplining the tree for dropping needles on his driveway.

thank god we moved away, I could feel a nasty legal battle coming on if we hadnt.

The next time he parks in your driveway and blocks you in, tow his car. It's your driveway so, therefore, he's illegally parked there. That'll teach him not to park on your driveway when he has to pay $150 to get his car back.

I have neighbors from hell. I move out this weekend but they have made my life a living hell. I rarely sleep at my place (I stay at my boyfriend's) otherwise I'd be kept up until 4am everyday when I have to be up at 7am.

The two girls are college sophomores which is fine except they live in a family apartment complex where most of the people work. They're partying until the wee hours of the morning and keep up the people around them.

The apartment complex has gotten numerous complaints about them and they've threatened to evict but the girls are still loud.

My roommate and I have went off at them a few times and they're now scared of us. They make sure we're not outside when they leave to go to there car. I ran into them a few times in the parking lot and they'll duck behind a car.

Most of my neighbors are really quiet and keep to themselves. Then there are the ones next door who have one of those portable basketball hoops that you can roll out into the street. They have marathon basketball in the street all day and they sure take their sweet time getting out of the street if a car comes by. Some of the kids are small and I'm afraid someone is going to get smashed flat as a fritter by a speeding car. No adult seems to be watching them.

I'm just glad they don't play into the wee hours of the morning - most of the time they stop when it gets dark. I can hear the thump thump thump of the basketball all the way in the back of my house!!
