Do you think Reality show stars should get future deals?
So, Elizabeth on The View, Coleen in The Animal.
Do you think any reality TV show stars should get future, non reality gigs?
I've heard a lot of SAG people complain that these people get an unfair shot, and that there are thousand of more "qualified actors" out there whose work is now harder because they have to compete with randoms getting gigs.
My feeling is, if you get that shot, more power to you, it just means others have to put in the work and work harder. But at the same time, I don't need to see the likes of Sue and Richard talking about how good they are at playing a "game", especially since that fudgepacker didn't win All-Stars.

If people are willing to buy it, why not sell it?

I thought journalists/reporters like Elizabeth from The View belong to a different union?

If there is a market for it, why not? Isn't fame more about being in the right place at the right time anyway?

Co-Sign...they obviously had the talent (and you have to admit, it is a sort of talent) to get on the reality show, so why not make it into a career?

Well i agree if they are hot, marketable and can make money for whoever puts them where ever they get a shot let them have it.
oh and hot doesn't always mean attractive. more or less it means popular with the masses

no. cause the people that usually get picked for future careers flop...
finding a real star in reality television is a profession that takes real talent.
i am excluding, 'american idol' cause that is a whole other issue with me.

eh. I don't think they should be guaranteed a shot but there are a few people out there with discernible talent.
Every once in a while I catch Kit from the first Road Rules on some sports show. And Melissa from Real World New Orleans is awesome, I'd watch her show.
I think the people who "make it" do so based on their personality and work accordly (show host, VJ, etc). Few of them can really act. 98% of the people are just annoying attention mongers.

I think if the people have TALENT, then that's great. But, too many boring people go on these reality shows for publicity because they think they're going to be the next big thing.

Wow, I haven't seen Colleen on anything in years.
She was the "cute one" on the first Survivor, but do you all think she'd still be such a standout if she were cast for the first time on Survivor today? It seems to me that the attractiveness bar has been raised substantially, especially for female contestants, from the beginning of the reality show genre.
