Mike Ditka for Senate?

A group of people are trying to draft Mike Ditka to run as the Republican candidate against Barack Obama in the Senate. I wish I was kidding here.

Tom Osborne from Nebraska has been doing a decent job in Congress. Why not Ditka in the Senate?

---- Okay, Ditka vs. The Chicago Bears, God, the heavenly choirs of angels and Tom Daschle.... who would win?

So, we're doing a Dan Reeves Show in New Orleans at SuperBowl whatever for the Broncos. The one they lost to San Fran.

Reeves and Ditka are buddies.

We're out having lunch aroun noon the day of the show at a little seafood (go figure) place, and there's Ditka sitting in the corner imbibing.

So, we go over and ask if he would appear live on Dan's show at 7:00 PM that evening.

Ditka says, "Sure, will you send a car to get me?"

We say, "Sure, where will you be at 6:30?"

Ditka says, "Right here."

And he was, and he came on the show -- well, let's be kind and say "tipsy." (After 6 or 7 hours of drinking)

And he was funny as hell.

You can't say that about every prospective Senate candidate.

Hell yeah. Even though he's Republican...

Can't say the man doesn't show any emotion. Can't you see his face on C-span all red as he's cursing and ranting over some bill being passed?

Maybe he and Siragusa can run together or something.

Hail to Pitt

Ditka vs. Cheney on who can say the nastiest word on the Senate floor between sessions.

I'll take Ditka in a walk...

But Dr. Tom doesn't drink or smoke or cheat or steal or any other unhealthy or unGodlike things.

And he never yells.

He also endorses cialis. That wouldn't be positive publicity. "Look! Our senator can't get it up on his own! WOOO!"

bob dole endorsed viagra and had lost the presidency...not a good track record for men with erectile disfunction...

It worked to keep Bob Dole popular after his presidential bid.
