NPC Question
Okay this might sound like a dumb question but I'm kind of confused (it might also be the fact that it is 6:19am).
So I was just looking at the sororities ASU and U of A have and they listed all the nationals, locals and NPHC ones. Here is my question, how come the locals were listed under NPC? I thought NPC was specifically set up for nationals? Which obviously if you are a local chapter your not a national yet. Does this make sense?
Help!!! I'm confused

You are not dumb silly! They are just part of the college/university panhellenic council-- not the national panhellenic council!! At a school to participate in certain things like recruitment they must be part of the panhellenic group on campus.

I'm not sure from what you are reading this, but when there are both national and local sororities on campus, they're usually listed together (as a Panhellenic courtesy). The NPHC has their own rules. In Baird's Manual, the NPC sororities are listed separately from the locals, as are the NPHC.
When a local sorority attends the campus Panhellenic Council, they are subject to the same rules as the national sororities. Hope that helps!

You are right that the locals are not NPC sororities. But in this case, they are most likely affiliated with the campus Panhellenic, meaning they have delegates and officers serving on campus Panhellenic and participate in campus Panhellenic events, abide campus Panhellenic rules and bylaws, etc.

I realize that everyone already answered this, but since I was a Panhellenic Delegate while I was an active, I just thought I would add something.
NPC is the National Panhellenic Conference, which is the org that the national sororities belong to.
CPC is the Collegiate Panhellenic Council, which is the group of sororities on each campus. The group that you saw the locals listed with was probably the CPC.

On my campus we are PHC, the men are IFC, and the historically black fraternities and sororities are NPHC.
