Best Food?drink

We are planning to serve food and drinks (non alcoholic) like smoothies, etc........
From your past experiences, what sells best.........we have too many conflicting suggestions......and of course everyone votes for their own suggestions so I need more suggestions/ideas........

thanks!

Be very careful of food. A lot of campuses have rules that you can't sell food on campus (competes with the campus food services, and probably for some health code reasons). You're also opening yourself and your group up to liability if someone gets sick or has an allergic reaction. Especially something like smoothies with strawberries... be VERY clear when disclosing what's in them.

Also, if it doesn't sell, you're left over with a lot of stuff that will spoil very quickly.

Fresh food fundraisers are very chancy, especially if it's not something that's an event in itself (like pancake dinners, etc. which i'm still not really a fan of). You don't know if it's going to be successful and you could be risking a lot.

Wow, I didn't know some campuses wouldn't allow it. My SAI chapter has sold soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, coffee & tea, you name it, and have always made money. And no one ever got sick. Although I can see how this could be a liability issue.

Anyways, BabyP, I recommend 1)serving something that would sell well, and 2)pricing it cheap. I think the smoothie idea is really cool, just make sure to keep the perishible parts of it well refrigerated during the sale.

Another fun idea: on your campus, have a Kool-Aid and cookies stand! The Phi Mu Alpha chapter here did that, and they made money from it!! They priced Koolaid at like 50 cents, and cookies were like a quarter a piece or something.

My SAI chapter sells food type stuff a lot, so PM me if you want more suggestions!
