Would you still join a GLO despite all the negativity?
I keep seeing all these posts and getting emails about all kinds of negativity related to GLO's. The latest email I have gotten was that a movie is supposed to be made about that book "Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities" of which I have not read yet. In any event, I am getting tired of people saying "people are going to think that GLO's are so negative because of these stereotypes". I am feeling that people are always going to be ignorant and buy into any negativity--but me personally, and I am sure a lot of others as well--would have joined a GLO despite any "rumors" or negative comments about the org. I obviously did do that as I am a proud member today of DPhiE and didn't listen to the negativeness back then. My org continues to be an important part of my life as an alumna and I have made some really good friends because of it. Nothing can change that wonderful experience. In fact, I wish sometimes I could go back to those carefree days as an undergrad sister! Remember when the most important stuff was what is going on in the house?!
