Graduation Sashes for Graduate Students - A Silly Idea?
I just saw this at Sorority Specialties, and I instantly thought about buying it...
But the thing is, I'm getting a Master's Degree, and I'll be wearing a hood that day. Would a hood and a sash be a bit much?
Does it show that I'm SO ready to get the heck up out of grad school?

A hood is graduation regalia. The Master's Hood measures 3 1/2 feet long and is trimmed with a four inch velvet banding. The velvet trim color corresponds to the field in which your degree was earned. The satin lining is tailored in the pattern and colors approved by the school awarding your degree.
I don't think that wearing one is silly but at the same time I've never seen anyone wear one for anything other than undergrad graduation. It would have totaly clashed with my JD regalia. We had red gowns with gold tailoring and purple hoods. They were quite regal but also very bright. They were 100% HEAVY velvet. We graduated outside in May in LA. Boy did we die in the heat!

Oh... I guess i would have to see how it all looked together then, especially depending on the colors and whatnot. I still dont think it would be a HORRIBLE idea...but like I said Id have to see it.

Well, we wear the standard black robe and black mortarboard. The sleeves on the Master's candidate robes are a bit longer than undergraduate students. My hood will have a lemon-coloured lining in it.
The more I think about it, the more I think that I should pass. Maybe I'll just wear my badge or my new recognition pendant on that day.

Our chapter got them for the graduating seniors this year. We thought it was super sweet and wore them with pride!

Oh, we wanted to get those and where them at graduation, and our school told us we couldn't wear them. We were really disappointed!
