Backpacking...

So here I am in Budapest at a really cool commune-style hostel and my trip nears it's end. Today is my last full day on the mainland then it's back to London for a few days, and then back to the states. I'm nervous, it's going to be reverse culture shock I should think. It's al been great so far. I started with my father in Pompeii/Capri, Rome (we missed bush being there thank God, though I met othersd not so fortunate), Florence (fined 40 euro), Cinque Terre, Gimmelwald (the most beauiful place on earth, I'm serious I could go on about this place for ages), Munich (my dad flew home from here & I went solo), Salzburg, Hallstatt, Vienna, Budapest.

It's all nearly over. Today I'm doing those ancient baths things so that'll be fun & relaxing. I really encourage any of you to go backpacking. It is amazing, you see amazing things, meet amazing people and you can do it, people think 'oh you're so lucky' but if you really have the courage to you can go just as easily.

hope this finds the lot of you well

cory

Sounds like you have had the trip/adventure of a lifetime. What a great experience for you and your dad to have shared.

Good for you. Be safe on your way home and take care bud.

The last time I was in Munich, I met a couple that was backpacking for their honeymoon -- something I'm seriously considering when I graduate law school.

Only problem is I'll be so ridiculously in the hole with student loans..

Sounds like fun - how long was the span of the entire trip? I would LOVE to go away to Europe for a month or two, but I don't get that much vacation time. I hate working for "the man!"

The trip was only 25 days, but it was pretty packed out & I saw pretty much all that I was hoping too...actually I'd have liked going to Scandanavia, but that's another trip.

I really hope I can make enough on summer internships from law school to go again over the next few years at the end of each summer.

When I get some more time I can give a few crazy stories. Stayed at a crazy place in Budapest, saw some of the most beautiful places on earth between Cinque Terre, Gimmelwald & maybe the most peaceful in Hallstatt.

i'll try to get back around

I'm going backpacking through Oceania (New Zealand, Fiji and Australia) in less than two days! We will have to swap stories!

Where exactly did you go?
