Any suggestions???

Does anyone have any good sisterhood ideas? I've just signed on to help foster more sisterhood within the active chapter. Cheap and easy suggestions are best!

One thing that we really enjoyed was a make-over party. We did it when the National Rep came down. You can go to Wal-Mart and get pedicure (foot scrub, lotion, polish) and facial (masks) stuff cheap. We all brought our favorite nail polish and had yummies and watched chick flicks. It was a lot of fun.

Another thing you might do is a slumber party. Have little/big couples dress alike for prizes.

We also go camping. That is a great bonding experience!! You never know what's going to happen in the woods in the middle of the night.

Hope this helps!!

Some popular sisterhood ideas that I have heard are...

"Friends Night" where sister get together to watch friends and have coffee and hot chocalate like the friends do at Central Perk.

Minature Golf Night...look around you can find group rates

Scrapbook or craft night...this is a good way to get all sister's involved in keeping a chapter scrapbook or help make things that could be sold during a "Parent's Day or Founder's Day event" as a small fundraiser.

Carry in Dinner- Everyone bring a food item to share and have it a local park for more of a picnic style sisterhood gathering.

Walk-out...travel to a sister's house or a hotel and stay the night playing games and doing sister hood bonding events....like a giant slumber party.

Serenades...come with some songs and dances and go around to fraternites or sororities and perform them....they are actually a lot of fun...

Hope this gives you some ideas

Secret Sister

Something my chapter did this year, was secret sister. I had everyone fill out a form at the first meeting- it had things like fav animal/color/food/bday/guilty pleasure/address/email,etc on it. I then took them all and put each in a sealed envelope and passed them out. All semester the sisters would do little things for their secret sister like buy small gifts, send encoraging emails (using a 'fake email'). It really went over well. I think many of the women looked forward to the time during each weekly meeting when we'd hand out secret sister gifts. (the women could bring gifts for their sisters and leave them outside our meeting room door to remain annoynmus). At the end of the semester we'd have a 'revealing' party when we'd find out who our secret sister is.
This event can be inexpensive if your sisters are willing to be creative and shop carefully. I probably spent about $20 for all the bi-weekly gifts I got for my secret sister and around $15 on her final gift. But the nice thing is that you can shop at your own money's pace
The only warning with this event is that you need to have a committment from everyone in your chapter if you are going to do it. It's not far for someone to be a lax sister if everyone else is trying hard. It really can hurt some feelings.

If you want the form I had everyone fill out for ideas just let me know!
