Alpha Phi...

Hey all...

I'm a Teke (TKE) from Long Beach State University (CSULB) in California, and I must say that our Alpha Phi's on this campus of beautiful girls are pretty much the hottest!

I'm also taking an Alpha Phi little sis' this next week!

GO BEACH!!!

How can a fraternity brother take a little from a sorority?

Glad to hear good things about us!

Groups do that all the time...We have our new girls' big sisters pick big brothers for them...and vice versa with fraternities. Just last week was Delta Chi's big sis revealing and a bunch of my friends were big sisters for the guys.

Is it a California thing? I thought that the whole "little sister" thing with fraternities was banned in the 90s at most schools. But I have no idea where I got that idea in my head. The whole thing is foreign to me, I don't think NE schools do it.

I know that my little sister has an "honorary" big brother that is a frat boy who is like a brother to me so since he is my brother than he is my little sister's big brother but now that I have a second little that's his girlfriend so it's kinda weird but it still works out...

while reading the book Pledged, it came across this......some awful stuff that happened way back in the day. basically girls in sororities were chosen by fraternity brothers to act as "little sisters." these little sisters would clean, chauffer, and cook for the brothers. they also performed sexual acts on request. they could be booted for refusing to have sex with a brother or booted for having sex with too many brothers.

like someone had mentioned earlier, most "little sister" titles had been banned. i'm sure there is a newer, less barrbaric scene these little sisters are now in. but like mentioned earlier, i thought they were completely done with

My dad's fraternity had "little sisters" but it was their own chapter and they chose the members. While they were little sisters of the fraternity, they did not like the younger girls dating the older brothers. My dad's sister actually black balled my mom for dating my dad. I think the group later became a national group.
