Wink NAT-THAN-YUL...look in the armrest and get those 2 dimes!!

That line off Kings of comedy always cracks me up!

I'm curious....What did your parents always ask you to do that would tick you off or embarrass you?

My mom would always tick me off by calling me all the way in her room just to change the channel on the TV.

She would sometimes shame me by telling the sales people at the store just how big my butt was getting when it was time to buy panties.

My mother would hit me wherever I showed out. she slapped the taste out of my mouth in a store. I deserved it though

Diva, our moms must be sisters. My mom would come to the porch as soon as the streetlights came out, saying in a Loud voice, "C'mon in this house." Everyone would laugh at me and tease me. I'll say mom everyone else gets to stay out. She'll say "I ain't they mommas" They momma don't care nothing about them, just see where they be in 10 years. You know what. She was right. Most got pregnant, went to jail, started doing drugs. Thanks mom,

Whenever my mom and I would go to Target, Walmart or any of those stores I would always "happen" to wander off and look at the toys. I would then hear my ENTIRE name over the loudspeaker telling me my mom was leaving! How embarrassing?!?!?

Elite,
My mom did that too. Sooo Embarassing watching everyone looking around for the one person called on the loudspeaker.

My mom especially told the neighbors when she was looking for me. So it got around the whole neighborhood that my momma said come home.

I had lil ol ladies coming out talking about...you know your momma wants you...I'd run all the way home and she'd say...go get me some ice from the freezer.

.
OR, call you in the room, only to turn OFF the light! uggggggggghhhhhhh!

Or, call you in there to find the remote!

Yeah, I got "popped" in the mouth a few times, even one time in FRONT of the church.
(Why is it that my mother DENIES this and other acts never happened? Then she says, it must not have done any good, cause I haven't really changed.)

OH WELL!

My mom would embarass me everytime we went shopping. Since I got the hottentot but she would make me come out of the dressing room and do deep knee bends to make sure the pants weren't too tight.
Also, when it was time to pay for her purchases and her credit card was denied (due to a glitch) she would go berserk "I have A -1 credit, give me the telephone number and I'll call them right now". No matter how apologetic the salesperson was- my mom would go off.
She still goes off, I'm seceretly praying that she will meet someone who will put her in her place.
Sometimes I apologize softly to the people and tell them she's mentally ill.

My mother will dig in my ears/hair to get out the tiniest peice of lint

Rather than using the loud speaker, she would walk around the department store SCREAMING my name

She would come to pick me up from places in the middle of winter with a bathrobe on underneath her coat and a bonnet on her head

What irrtates me to the fullest is when my Mom will call me into the room and say something like: "Pick up this piece of paper off the floor."

WTF????

Why Couldn't she do it? You're down here already...

Also, when she calls me from upstairs to ask me where something is, then b/c the object is upstars she asks me to go get it...like I'm a slave...

Talking

My mother would call me from outside or around the house to:

1. Change the channel
2. Help get herself out of some boots
3. Get a pot from the bottom cabinet
4. See something "important" on television

My mother is a native Brooklynite and her voice truly carries. Her summonings would ring in my ear for hours on end. Sometimes, I woke up in my sleep saying "Huh", "Yes, mommy", "Ma, you called me!" I mean, it was really wild. She laughs at me when I tell her about this to this day.

My dad would summon me when company came over to say my "part"--you know, your line/speech for one of the church productions.

At the time I was "ugh". But I also liked being needed and appreciated by my parents.

I hated when my mom or grandmother would call me in with their company to "do that dance" -what dance they meant I don't know. I'm there entertaining all these people doing some silly dance that I made up as a child while the house company is getting a laugh at my expense! I hated the holidays especially because then I knew it was all over for me
