Help!

Hey, I'm in charge of planning our first night of formal recruitment in the fall. It's information night and the theme is anchored for life. I was wondering if any of you guys have any ideas for decorations, possible center peices for the tables, etc. I have like almost everything else planned except decorations.

I know we have some sort of fabric (forgot the name of it) in green and gold...and I think maybe blue. Also already got some fish netting that we will be using.

I also not sure who I should have speak on the first night. I have down our President, Treasurer, Philanthropy chair (she'll be giving a lil teaser for the next night ), and sisterhood.

Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Balloon arches are a great idea and they really fill up the room..I can show you how to make them at convention. Also, you really should talk to Seleena, your EC and Christina Tierman, DE and your Greek Adviser for tips...please attend the convention recruitment workshops as well...If you want to talk about recruitment call me, my number is in the national phone list! What kind of tables do you have? Round ones that people will sit at? What kind of tableclothes will you have?

One idea is to put a long white cloth on a round table (if guests will be seated at the tables) then put a square of colorful fabric (maybe what you have?) on the table so that the corners are pointing down the sides of the table somewhat. That will give you a punch of color and the white tableclothes will cover your tables completely and give a good background for the colored fabric.

Centerpieces....lemme think a little bit. The obvious answer would be anchors...but you don't want anchor overkill if you've got them everywhere else. What about photos of sisters in small frames (like 2x3 or 3x4) scattered in the middle.....

The other thing about balloons...if you don't do an arch, do a cluster of green and gold balloons on the table. Anchor them to the table with something, and make the strings long enough so that they move closer to the ceiling (and aren't in the way of people talking). That will visually "fill" your room at the top.

This might give you something to build on....if I think of something else I'll be back!!!
