Candle Ceremony for Married Sister???

I plan on being married within a year and I still would like to be an active sister until I finish school. However, I've been told that while I can still remain active, I'd have to go through a candle ceremony. What exactly is it? I've never heard of this before.

Its a nice thing where a bunch of girls stand in a circle and pass a candle and sing or something . . everyone gets misty eyed, probably some cry, a real awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww moment lol.

At least I think thats what it is.
