Campaign for Alpha Gamma Delta Question

I'm hoping our resident Alpha Gam gurus can answer this question for me! I just got my letter in the mail from Foundation requesting the next installment of my donation for the Campaign. I donated to the Campaign in addition to the monthly gift that I have automatically deducted from my checking account.

I'd like to know if Campaign contributions are added to your annual gift level. I *think* that if I pay off my Campaign promise by Centennial, that added with my monthly gift will make me eligible for Jewel Society this year!

In other Campaign news, Alpha Gam is over 94% of the way to reaching its goal, which is GREAT! I hope that everyone on GC seriously thinks about donating to the Campaign as a Centennial gift. I know some of you all are bummed that you can't make it to Convention because its so expensive, but this is a way that everyone can be a meaningful part of the Centennial Celebration. Your gift doesn't have to be a lot...every little bit helps!

I'm no guru when it comes to this stuff, but I *think* I can answer some of your question... I don't see any reason why campaign gifts wouldn't count toward your total amount, so they should help to qualify you for the Jewel Society. The only catch is that Jewel Society is based on a fiscal year (I *think*), so that means it's June 1 - May 31, not the calendar year.

Congrats on getting near the Jewel level - that's awesome!

Are we sure that June 1 to May 31 is AGD fiscal year? I know that for the state of KY, the fiscal year is July 1 to June 30.

Hi!
I'm on the Campaign Steering Committee and yes, your gifts to the Campaign do count towards your annual giving level!!!! And thank you for supporting the Foundation with your annual gift plus your Campaign gift! I can't wait for Convention we our Committee unveils the amount of money raised from the generous gifts from our sisters!

The Fraternity and Foundation fiscal years are June 1-May 31.

fiscal years are actually different for everyone. each company, organization or group determines what there own fiscal year is. for example, many clothing and toy stores end their fiscal year jan 31st so that way they can get holiday sales in for that year.

Thanks, ladies! I knew someone around here would know.

I'm going to call IHQ and see exactly what level I'm in at this moment. That should give me a better idea of whether I'll be able to hit Jewel Society this year. It would be kinda neat to do that for Centennial.

Lightbulb We had an interesting conversation...

We had an interesting conversation at Alum Panhell about the alum dues that each NPC group pays. Actually, we are very lucky to be able to pay the LMAD dues as undergrads, as some groups do not send their magazine, etc., unless the member pays dues each year after her graduation.

Also, how many of you have started to pay your elective dues to the Fraternity? I think that I will start. I don't think that $30 is much to give each year to help defray costs, etc., especially where I just can't give much time as I am so far away from any AGD chapters/alum clubs. I really didn't get brought up to speed about the elective dues until recently.

I've been paying my alumnae dues since it started a few years back! And you're right, $30 is not alot! Imagine what the Fraternity could do if each alumna paid these dues!

My thoughts exactly! There are so many things that could be done with just that small amount of money each year. I have also been paying since it began and hope others are doing the same.

Here is more information from our website:

I've been paying mine too... definitely worth it to support the Fraternity. Our collegians shouldn't have to shoulder the whole expense.
