BET Movies
I posted this mostly because I just finished watching "Fire and Ice", the latest BET original movie starring Lark Voorhies and Kadeem Hardison. It also featured Glenn Turman, Tempestt Bledsoe, and one of the guys that played a boyfriend on Sister, Sister. (Not Bud). Anyway, I thought it was really good - better than most of the trash Arabesque movies they usually show. The acting was pretty decent, and they played "Fly Away" by Shanice a few times, which is a verrrry good song, for all you Napster connosieurs. Did anyone see it, and if so, what did you think?
I also liked the other one awhile back where it was the typical meet-on-the-internet dating mix-up thing. I thought it was cute.

Yeah, it was decent. At least the cast THIS time had a variety of "blacks" represented.

I thought the movie was great!
I was pleased to see Temptess back on the screen. However I thought Kadeem's show was too too close to the old Arsenio Hall Show. Did they use the exact same set? Although I loved the show I did think the story was a bit unrealistic.

OK...I thought I was the only one that watched those BET movies. I thought it was good. I agree with SweetestDiva about the Arabesque movies. Some are trashy and the acting is bad. I love Lark...she's adorable, and I'm glad she is one of the few "Saved By the Bell" vets still getting decent work.
*Yes, I used to watch Saved By the Bell*

I thought it was good as well. I have always been a fan of kadeem hardison ever since he was dewayne wayne on a different world. But like I always say, I support the black film even if it is low budget. Our support helps them gain more endorsements.

This is the first one I've watched from beginning to end, and I thought is was great! I really like all the actors/actresses in this one, so that probably held my attention.

I agree. Sometimes I find myself staying for a movie that is sorry as hell but because they are black. My beef with hollywood (we need our own city by the way) is that they always want to portray black folx a certain way...even in black movies.
Who knows... Arabesque may lead the way to a QUALITY movie in the theaters.

I wish I could say something about this movie, but I'm still boycotting BET, at the very LEAST until they get rid of that show "Uncut" that comes on at 3am. It's disgusting!

Okay, a sista is in the bed asleep at 3 trying not to be tired for work the next day. What is uncut? I have never heard of it or seen it. (I am not a big BET fan anymore either, they have gone too far down the booty trail for me.)

Uncut is the video show that comes on right after Hits From the Street. They play low-budget, no class, booty-shakin, dry-humping type videos they wouldn't dare show during prime time. (As if they're not bad enough then) Me and my boyfriend watch it sometimes just to laugh.. every single video on there looks like your next door neighbor could have stepped outside and just went to filming.. SO homemade.

I watched it all the way through. It was pretty good. It was my first BET Movie. It starred Victoria Dillard, Allen Payne, Joe Torry, Q from Moesha and Uncle Phil's Mom on Fresh Prince.

The Los Angeles Times reported earlier this week that BET is stopping movie production. For the full story, go to dailynews.yahoo.com/fc/US/African_American_News/. Scroll down under the News Stories section.
