Pimping My Pin

where do you go to get your pins pimped up? can you just go anywhere or does it have to go through headquarters? i am thinking about getting diamonds around it and adding other stuff to my pin. are there any rules? i was talking to this girl in another organization and she said that they can't pimp their pins unless they held a specific office. for example, you can have diamonds on your pin if you were chapter president, etc.

Our badges are pretty standard. You can buy guards and dangles from Burr Patterson and Auld, although they dangles are particular to offices. I have a silver badge with pearls, and I would love to switch them out for diamonds (since the diamond badge only comes in gold), but I'm sure it's too expensive. I would chec kwith your HQ on rules for badge standardization.

Well, you can't really "pimp" it -- that is, you can't add stones or jewels to a badge that has already been made (at least not without shelling out huge bucks to completely re-make it). What you can do is buy a new badge with jewels or stones.

For that second option, different GLOs have different rules. Some do not allow jewels or stones, some allow them in certain instances, some allow them only in certain combinations/arrangements and some allow you to do pretty much whatever you want and can afford. Contact SAE's HQ to find out what the rules are for you, or check out Burr Patterson & Auld for their SAE catalog.

Usually, you "sell back" your badge, or upgrade. So you give your old one back to the jewelry designer (ours is Masters of Design), and then you get a new badge back, with the upgrade made.

You should check with SAE HQ to see what's allowed. Different GLOs have different rules. They vary widely. For instance, ours cannot be customized - letters in sequence, 27 pearls, yellow gold. The only option is whether to get a chapter guard. Meantime, my Theta roommate brought an 8-page catalog back from her first new member meeting, and some of those options were pretty blinged out (and $$$).

...Or you could always holla at Xzibit and hope he comes by with the bling bling!

Ditto for AGD Badges. There are different styles to choose from, and the all diamond Badge is reserved for the International President only. I have the all pearl one, so I'm pretty satisfied with it. All orders are handled via IHQ.

On our own, we can order the chapter guard, dangles for whatever office we've had, or special occasion dangles like Convention. Some alumnae who have given exceptional service are awarded with different degrees of distinction with a formal ceremony. Those awards are also handled through IHQ.

Thumbs up

Certain Greek Organizations have only a limited style of Badges and a Company that you have to order through.

LXA, has certain, recuriements, Plain, upgraded,Pearls are always in the Cresent, can get Assortment of Gems in The Lambda! Depending on the Gems is what the price will be! White Gold or Yellow Gold is also cost difference.

I have a whole lot of LXA Badges with different Gems and color of Gold.

I have seen some Beautiful Badges on ebay! WOW!
