SweetestDiva, it's just done IMO for shock value. I saw his bio and he claims to be an 18-year-old Clark Atlanta student.
Seems to me like the CHILD is horribly immature and just wants attention. He got my attention for a minute, but I'm done.

I really hope that that was satire. I took the whole thing as a big joke. He can't be serious. I mean what about that whole part about some scientist "I can't remember who"

proved that light skin was superior to dark skin.
Also the part where he mention green and blue eyed black folks and how they tend to be idolized. I have to say it true. In my highschool, the people who received the most votes for prettiest eyes, inevitably had green, blue, or gray eyes. I mean these folks might have had bags under their eyes, dark circles, whatever.

I cannot honestly believe that a black man wrote that. Even though some of our people do honestly feel that lighter is better, I cannot believe that any black man in this country would go THAT far. This is probably some teenaged white boy trying to see how much of a response he can get from this. This essay is just a lot of lies and propaganda supported by absolutely no fact.

He says that White Americans took slaves from Africa so we could be saved. What ever happened to missionaries? If all they wanted was to introduce us to Christ, they could have sent missionaries and left us in Africa. It is common knowledge that Europeans often hid behind the guise of "saving souls" when they knew that they were committing atrocities. They said the same thing about what they did to the Native Americans.

Then he says that a few centuries back some European scientist proved the lighter skin is better than and superior to darker skin. Who??? Oh, I forgot.

Do not take this seriously. Do not even give it a second glance. This was put on the internet to get us all riled up and agitated. Let's not give the person the satsisfaction.

do you know the basis of modern african-american christianity??? if you don't know...you better find out before you attempt to call our ancestors anything other than godly...i am non-denominational...slavery had nothing to do with religious indoctrination...it was all about the money...africans may have "worshiped" dieties...but christians worship the holy trinity...hmmmn...we do not owe "whites" anything...nor do they owe us anything...but common respect and decency, justice and equality...in this PRESENT day and time...not dwelling in the past...

Now back to polite conversation.

Not to upset my lighter skinned sisters, (I am not all that dark myself), but I have met many "pretty" light skinned sisters, as I have met many "pretty" dark skinned sisters. (Pretty is as Pretty does). Just as I know many highly intelligent dark and light skinned people. The color of your skin is not a determining factor of whether you will be more pleasant to look at or more successful. If I was pitch black, I would still be pleasant to behold, b/c of the manner in which I carry myself, and I would definitely be successful, b/c that's all I know how to be.
I know his page is titled "Free Speech.com" But, come on, some things are better off left to the private confines of your own mind.

I had to laugh at this because it is just so ludicrous. Anyway there is a period of time when Jesus was not accounted for and He is rumored to have been in Africa. I know the God that I serve would not have left my salvation up to some slaveholders. And I believe Paul (I think)explained some scripture to a traveling Ethipoian enuch.

As a Christian I am horrorfied and appauled at this man's thinking...

When the Europeans came into Africa and took us into slavery, it was for a good reason: to teach us about Christianity and the greatness of Jesus Christ. These wonderful White men saw us practicing our evil, pagan religions and felt that we needed to be saved so that God would forgive us for our sins, and for that I say "thank you". The Bible clearly states that people who don't worship God will go to hell, and if it wasn't for these White men, none of us would be able to get into heaven.

I love Jesus with all of my heart but where does the bible condone slavery to "Christianize" ... Jesus is a choice and he can't be beat into you...

To all of the light skinned sisters out there... you can have this brother.... but I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy... it is sad in the year 2001 that there are idiots out there that still hold this view... man there is nothing wrong with prefrences but dayum...

This is the kind of thing that keeps black people separated... He really needs to read his bible and the life of Jesus will show that he NEVER discriminated against anyone and that his gift od salvation is FREE... well I will be typing all day... just look at this as a wake up call for all of us...

Wow, that was a good laugh. I like the fact that someone decided to post this because I think that crazy people are interesting. I am a psychology major and I think this fool was hilarious. No way do I believe that this "black male" is indeed a black male. I am sitting here reading it with my WHITE boyfriend and HE doesn't even believe that a black male wrote this.
In my mind, this was written by some crazy cracked-up cracker somewhere in Tennessee in some shack, but what I want to know is how this fool got on the Internet. I didn't know they had Internet out there. Shouldn't he be somewhere having sex with a sheep? I don't know, but I am not buying it one bit.
This "scientific" experiment???? Um....I believe that there was such an experiment, then this guy woke up after the test results came in. I do not doubt that. It happened in one of his cracked-up dazes. Someone also mentioned missionaries, I also though about that when this guy used the excuse of bring Jesus and Christianity to the African people. My last word: OK, it was a joke, let us move on.

Some folks keep saying what a joke this is, but the reality is that whether this particular article is a joke or not, there are black people out there with this mentality - I know one personally. Whether this particular guy is for real is indeed questionable... but the fact that this is a viable issue is not. Just my opinion.

Their are still many of us who feel this way about the skin color. We continue to do this to ourselves. As far as white people are concern light/dark u are still a NI**ER.
