Fire damages frat house at Indiana, Pa., university
INDIANA, Pa. - Fire heavily damaged a fraternity house at Indiana University of Pennsylvania early yesterday, and investigators suspect that a water boiler sparked the blaze.
Most of the 13 Sigma Chi fraternity members who lived in the house were away for Easter weekend. Two residents escaped without injury after dialing 911.
"I woke up when the smoke alarms went off and found smoke coming up from the basement," said Ian Weldy of Scranton. "I went upstairs, got my friend out of bed and we got... out."
