Ashcroft devotes millions to stopping porn

The attorney general has dedicated a sizable staff to prosecuting obscenity cases:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/pri...al-pe-asection

"In this field office in Washington, 32 prosecutors, investigators and a handful of FBI agents are spending millions of dollars to bring anti-obscenity cases to courthouses across the country for the first time in 10 years. Nothing is off limits, they warn, even soft-core cable programs such as HBO's long-running Real Sex or the adult movies widely offered in guestrooms of major hotel chains."

Good to know the administration has its priorities in order. It's not like the Justice Department has anything better to do. I guess that since the terrorist threat has apparently been neutralized, we should invest our law enforcement resources in a futile legal battle challenging First Amendment precedent that's been settled for thirty years. Because you know, the real enemy number one in this country isn't Osama bin Laden, drug kingpins, or corporate thieves...it's Jenna Jameson.

Ivy, J.D.

MORONS!!!

No city has ever been destroyed by bimbos with silicone breast implants. They do not pose a clear and present danger to the American way of life.

This does pose a threat:

John Ashcroft, I don't think that you are evil. I do think that you are a moron, and that you need to get laid.

porno is a 4 billion dollar a year industry and has been growing over the past ten years with DVD sales strengthening the market; i don't think that regulation is going to do anything. There is a demand for porn and people will get in one form or another. Plus, the industry employs at least a few thousand people. Attempting to regulate porn will force job losses and higher unemployment.

I could have sworn that we had more important things to worry about in the US then adults subscribing to porn channels.

This is why we have a national defecit??????????????

Assuming we're dealing w/ consenting adults, let 'em watch porn. Is there nothing better for Aschcroft to do? Shouldn't he be hiring more people to inspect us at more places? Why just airports, why not train stations, and city/metro subways too??

While we're at it, let's be scared of everything. Everyone just sit at home all day, peeking out from behind your curtains. That's the new world order.
