I think it's a decent method to meet people once you are older, divorced, single parent, etc. with fewer ways to meet people and when you feel too old for the bar scene.

In my opinion, college students are in an environment where they have access to more single people their own age, most of whom are focused on meeting a significant other, than any other demographic group and probably benefit more from meeting people in more conventional ways.

But if college is not working for you . . try online . ..

If you are the shy type it will give you the chance to meet people online first and start talking . . break the ice so to speak. Might make it easier for you.

Maybe you should look for a religious oriented website. I have Jewish friends who have utilized J date.

And again, if you claim to be so religious, then how Christian is it to run around calling women whores and advocating baby oil wrestling? (my apologies if you're not Christian, i'm just making a guess).

Honestly, I don't know how old you are, but I have the feeling that you're pretty young.

Maybe in looking to meet someone you should reflect on the impression that you give to others, and what your values are versus what you practice. Know who you are before you try to find someone, that way you will know what kind of person is right for you.

It's not my thing, although I have friends who have met their SO through online personals.

I have an aunt (who I dislike for other reasons) who always has a www.boyfriend. She doesn't use online dating as a supplement for having a real social life, like some of my friends who would do things like have friends and go out in addition to online personals. She's dependent on Black Planet for finding her next loverman--and that's when I think it goes too far.
