Post why the attitude?

Is it just me, or is meeting new people harder than what it should be? I am a very friendly person, but I have a hard time making female friends. Most of my friends are males or girls I have known for years. When I do make new female friends, it's because we have a class together, work together, or because we stay on the same floor in our dorm. It is funny how we can chat all day long on the internet but would probably not speak if we went to the same school. Is this just me, or is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
