new archon

hello ladies! i am the new archon of the iota gamma chapter. i am really excited yet nervous at the same time. it's so hard to be neutral and it's especial harder when sisters turn against you when you say no. but regardless of everything i am really proud to hold this position as i am of the current e-board! any how, if you have suggestions, comment, or anything write back!!

I don't know if we have alumnae initiation or not... but I think that would be the only option and i'm not sure if that would be restricted to just alum. with a bachelors degrees or anyone interested in joining and serving the community.

I know that at one point there was a man that was initiated into Phi Sig, as an honorary type of thing. Ali would know a lot more about that then I would. But I'm sure there is some sort of way to bring in other people.

We do have alum initiation, but it's very rarely used...the only one I know of is Dianne Macey (i think).

I've heard the rumour of a man being initiated, but never any substantial proof - maybe he was made an "honourary patron" - there's a ceremony for that in our ritual too.

BTW LAdy_bug congrats on being Archon

We actually do have AI, usually a few women per year. One of the most notable recent AI's was the Washington/Oregon President/CEO of the National Kidney Foundation. There was a very nice write up about it in the "PhiSignificant" section of the Sphinx in January.

AI is usually done in special circumstances, for women who are leaders in their community, OR in cases where they are needed to help a specific chapter... like I believe one of the advisors for our Iota Zeta chapter was an AI.

Just an FYI
