Cool Social Chair

Hello... I am Co chair for social for the Chi Omega chapter of Nebraska-Omaha, and I was wondering if anyone could help me think of some fun events (themes) so far i've come up with draft-a-date with camoflauge attire, also CHI-O-T-Ugly which is a hip western theme. I was wondering if anyone could suggest fun exchanges they have had. Thank you for your help ladies!

My chapter hasn't done it, but I've read about different ways to do a "my tie" party. One way is where each girl is given a tie to wear and a bag with matching ties is delivered to the partner fraternity house...when you meet up at either house to go to the party, you find the guy with the matching tie and he's your date for the night. I forget the other ways to do that kind of a party, but i'm sure you could find it by searching on GC.
We do an annual Chi-O capture party with our campus's sig ep chapter. Last year's was a western theme where we dressed up to the theme, took bandanas as blindfolds, ambushed the house, blindfolded a random guy before taking him to a place to pre-party and then off to the event (techno, glow-in-the-dark bowling that year).
This year we just had these cute little squirt guns we ambushed them with and picked a guy to take to the pre-party which doubled as a graffitti party. This year we did laser tag...though I wouldn't recommend it if you pre-party pretty big cuz the staff can get impatient :-P

We did a My Tie party with the Lambda Chis this past year. The way we did it was prior to the mixer, each boy put one of his ties in a box. When we got to the mixer each girl reached in the box, grabbed a tie and put it around her neck. The guys came up and asked "do you have my tie?", when the guy found his tie, you were his date for the night.

Question

Hey ladies. This is something I've always wondered about but never asked -

All these mixers where you get a "date" b/c of a tie or whatever, what about the girls who are dating someone who isn't in the house you are mixing with that night. Does she still go and just not do the tie part (or whatever the activity is to find a date)? I mean, we had themes like 70's, graffiti, or Heaven and Hell, etc where we dressed up and all, but you never got a "date". Someone clue me in please!

xokathy, it's all in fun, and basically when someone is your "date" you dance with them for at least one dance and if you don't want to dance more because you are dating someone, then don't Most of the time we don't stick with our "dates" anyhow. And occasionally, there will be the boyfriend who gets upset about it, and sometimes that girl won't come or won't pick a tie, but it normally isnt a problem.
