bonding events
recently we have added two new local greek org. to our very small campus. i have felt from the begining that we needed to get to know their members better. & we have even talked about doing a event with the new sorority. BUT i feel that we need to have a event for all 6 orgs. to be able to get to know each other better (besides at a car wash etc.) does anyone have any ideas ?????????????? i would like for this to be something that we would not have each group going of in their own little "groups". something fun. im also hoping this event will releave some tention during greek games i would like for everyone to get along during greek week!!!!!!!!!!! our greek week tends to mostly be a bunch of fighting instead of fun.

What about an all-greek spaghetti dinner? Or a sleepover?

Sororities Only - We had ice cream socials and played games.
Fraternity Involvement - We had "letter" exchanges. This may or may not work on your campus because of the number. All groups with a certain letter in common would have an exchange/mixer/party. The next month the "letter" was changed.

During my freshman year, we had a new member tea to which all the sororities' pledges/new members, presidents, and new member educators were invited. The idea was to allow us to meet new members in other sororities. It kind of backfired, though; people tended to stay in groups within their own sororities.
You could try something like that (either new members or everyone) with an icebreaker that would force people to interact with members of other sororities. For instance, you could make a list of people to find ("Find someone who plays a sport", "Find someone in your major", etc) but not allow people to use their own sisters to satisfy the list.

Sign up for a ropes course.
It's a little more expensive. However, it beats the hell out of ice cream socials.

in IGC every 3 weeks or so each greek org was matched up with another- and they had to do soemthing together.... sometimes if we dind't get our stuff together we made up an event- so that isn't always good- but if everyone is committed- it can be a lot of fun.... you could do a dinner- movie night.. something like that

We held a Greek Block Party (non-alcoholic) (and made t-shirts) for the whole group to mix and mingle. Non-greeks were welcome, too, to increase relations and interest prospective members.
Also, as Halloween time, we held "Trick or Treat" down Greek Street. All the groups would dress in costume and invite area children to trick or treat, bob for apples, go through a fun house, bounce house, etc.
We also had a series of lectures and workshops for our Greeks throughout the year. This would bring the groups together for education and dialogues to better understand the Greek system, one another, get leadership training and support.
Panhellenic Women's Circle-- a group that met monthly to talk about relevant women's issues, plan events, etc. Anyone was welcome.
We encouraged sororities to attend the Panhellenic meetings, had snacks, etc. It was a great to visit with our Greek sisters and we rotated the meetings through the houses (ie: ADPi one week, at Alpha Xi the next, then Tri-Delta, etc....)
We encouraged fraternities to attend the IFC meetings, outside of the officers, of course.
Also, it's a great idea to have a group service project between groups.
Greek Sisterhood Supper, Recruitment Reunion for sorority new members and Pan Exec, etc.

That's what Panhellenic does at Auburn for council meetings.
