Official "Help me name my puppy" thread
Ok, so my dance teacher's Chihuahua had puppies and somehow he talked me into having me keep one.
Now I just need some help naming this guy. My cousin also has a little Chihuahua (that is about 2 months older than this guy) and she named him Elvis.
I thought of naming this dog, Ringo (as in Ringo Starr) but i'm having second thoughts cause I dont think he necessarily looks like a Ringo. I'm leaning more towards Martini but yet, i'm still not sure.
Any suggestions?

Oops yeah...i was trying to resize the picture and so I "deleted" the other pictures I had of the puppy. But the resized pictures should be up...hopefully they won't be too huge.

Aww, he's such a cutie!!!!!
The boy Chihuahua I had (he belongs to my grandparents now) was named TANK, and it was so adorable because he was so little.
I think the name Martini is really cute.... He looks like that would fit him.
*Suggestion from a chihuahua owner.... Make sure you socialize him A LOT while he is a puppy. Have him around lots of people (and lots of other dogs if possible). These dogs get VERY set in their ways VERY quickly... But if they get used to lots of people at a young age, they will be just the sweetest things ever. At least, that's what I did with my little Madison, and she LOVES people and is never skiddish around humans.

Aww thanks for the suggestion. I've never had a chihuahua (the only other dog i've had was a poodle who died 2 years ago)....but i'll be bringing him around my family a lot. My cousin already has "play dates" planned out between her chihuahua Elvis and my dog. I just have to get used to having a new dog (i.e. house training).

He's much cuter than Paris Hilton's dog. I'd name him Paddlefoot.

I totally agree!
It may take awhile, but you'll definetely find the perfect name. We originally named my dog Scrappy, just because we thought it was cute. We couldn't really find anything that worked other than that, and then after about a month it just hit us: Elijah. It's perfect for him, we don't know why, but he just looks like an Elijah, lol.
So don't worry, it'll come to ya

My best friend had a Chihuahua called Peanut...I always thought that was an adorable name, 'cause that's exactly what they look like, a little peanut.

He is too cute! I think Ringo is a good one, but you can go wrong with a big manly name....they always sound so cute on a little guy
You know, I was looking at the thread topics and one jumped out at me......WRIGLEY? He is small like a stick of gum....and he looks just as sweet

I admit that I don't normally care for Chihuahuas, but fell in love with "Bruiser" in Legally Blonde. The concept of naming him something on that line (Bruiser, Cruiser, Butch(ie), etc) is intriguing; so is something cute in Spanish (Te Amo & Te Quieras both mean "I love you").
Naming a dog after a liquor may be cute now, but do you really want to be calling "Martini!" in another 20 years?
So, my last thought: Bolivar - and call him Bully.

Fyi: Te Amo and Te Quier o....but very good point. I thought of naming him Chiquito (which means "little one" or "small one" in Spanish) but I think it would be hard for my dad to say...lol. My dad isn't too good with Spanish words.
I also fell in love with Bruiser!! lol. And its wierd that i ended up with a little Chihuahua because I don't like them....they might be one of my least favorite dogs! lol...but you really "can't look a gift horse in its mouth" (lol is that the right saying? hahaha). I just couldn't pass it up...even though sometimes I wish I had.
