What are you doing this summer?
Sorors and Friends:
Thought I'd lighten the mood a bit by posting a new topic. What, if any, are your summer vacation plans?
I plan to attend the "black folks reunion" (an add-on to the larger reunion taking place)at my alma mater this summer, go to meet the extended family for the first time at my husband's family reunion in St. Louis, and surprise my sands later on this summer. I am also turning 30 on the very first day of summer, so I've decided to pamper myself at the spa!
If anyone's travel plans include Chicago, let a sista know, and I'll hook you up with all the happenings. Speaking of which, I plan on being a very sisterly host to our fellow greeks of Delta Sigma Theta as they make their home in Chicago during their national convention this July. Gotta rep that pink and green love, no matter what!
Take care, all, and have a gorgeous day!
DG

Have a great time, DG,....Chicago mmmmmm, I would love to visit. Have fun with DST. Spread Pink & GReen love all around.

I don't have any special plans for this summer. I'm going to incorporate some outdoor activities with my "little sister". There is a lot to do in Charleston in that respect. The city has so many beaches and I haven't been in three years! So, that is definitely on my summer to-do list.

Skeeeeee Weeee Sorors what's up, long time no post :-)
Besides working (URGH) this summer, I just hope to get in a little R&R. I just want to relax and have fun like a kid again. I don't want to do anything except enjoy days in the park and on the beach, and just chill. I want to sit on my porch in the day and play cards at night. I just wanna LIVE! Do yall feel me? I am tired of being grown up and civil *pouting*
No really I just want to spend time with family and friends that can keep me smiling from dawn till dust. Oh and I gotta take some long drives and I gotta fit in a couple of amusement parks. I don't want to take any airplanes anywhere (you'll know I got a fear for flying).
So hopefully that will be how I sum up my summer. Lastly, I will be glad to entertain those coming to New York for vacation.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one around here with a fear of flying.

Hello Ladies,
The first thing I will do for the summer...specifically after May 24th is to dance the BIGGEST JIG of my life . The semester will be over and I will be able to breathe. I will also be planning my wedding :-) and volunteering as much as I can. I haven 't been able to do much of that so I want to make up for lost time. Haven't decided where I want to volunteer. I love pets so I might volunteer at an Animal Shelter. I also want to be more involved in church. Well those are my plans. Whatcha' think???

Good morning Sorors and SFs,
Well, this summer is going to be a good one for me. I will be working throughout the summer, but I'm heading to Vegas with my mother during Memorial Day weekend, DC in June for a wedding, Boule and the SkeePhi picnic in July...and then finally I'm gonna stay my butt home and do it up during the Alpha National convention in August.
The bottom line is....umma be SUPER busy!!!

Good afternoon lovely ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I bring you greatings from the most Knoble of all men, the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Not to intrude upon your discussion here, but I was just wondering have any of you been to the Essence Music festival down in New Orleans. If so, could you please provide a brother with some info on how it is. I have had one friend tell me it was off the hook, while another said that it was just ok. If you could provide some feedback, it would be most appreciated. I already have my ticket and have payed for the hotel. I hope that I didn't waist my money.

Hey Nupe!
One of my cousins went before and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Every since then, I've been wanting to go, too. I hope you have a great time and a safe trip.

Greetings Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and sisterfriends. I plan on RELAXING this summer. I teach so I will have the entire summer off. *Backflips accross the room* Yahoo! I deserve it as do all the teachers around the globe. Anyway, I will be visiting family in NY in June, going to my cousins wedding in Philly, and then off to the Dominican Republic for my Hermana's wedding in July. Between all of this I will be relaxing on the beach at home, in the Virgin Islands, reading the most SCANDALOUS books I can find. LOL!

Hello Sorors and Sisterfriends...
After ten (10) long summers of summer school (undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate)I finally get a break. I also am a teacher, so you know I can't wait. Our last day is May 29th. On that day, I have rented a cabin and plan on living it up for the rest of the summer. On the menu for my summer includes: visiting my LS in California, attending Boule in Dallas, keeping my Godchildren(nieces and nephew), spending quality time with my "sweetie", spending time with my mother, and whatever else comes to mind. I do not care just as long as a classroom, professor, books, and desks are not involved! Take care and enjoy yourselves.
Peace and Blessings!
