Sigma Pi's Sorority Superbowl XV!!
I wanted to post something light hearted since everyone is going nuts in the local/national thread.
Today marks the start of Sigma Pi's Sorority Superbowl Philanthropy. It benefits The American Red Cross and is probably one of the bigger philanthropies on campus next to Greek Week. It's "flag" football, but most girls tackle anyway.
The bracket is as follows:
Alpha Phi Vs Phi Sig
Lambda Sigma Gamma Vs. Sigma Kappa
AXO Vs. Delta Gamma
G-Phi-B vs. Chi Delta (YAY!)
Last year, Alpha Phi took 1st, Chi Delta took 2nd, and Sigma Kappa took 3rd. It's been this type of rivalry for the past 2 years. Gamma Phi Beta won the sisterhood award last year.
I will be giving stats as I know them. Root for your sisters or favorite team!

Okie dokie... here is the recap of today's games:
Alpha Phi was victorious over Phi Sig
Sigma Kappa beat Lamda Sigma Gamma
Chi Delta (YAY) was victorious over Gamma Phi.
AXO defeated Delta Gamma.
Tomorrow's bracket consist of these games:
Alpha Phi vs Sigma Kappa
Chi Delta vs. AXO
LSG vs Phi Sig
Gamma Phi vs Delta Gamma
It's double elimination so anyone that has lost already and loses tomorrow will round out 8th and 7th place.

Good to hear that Sigma Pi's philanthropy on your campus is a big deal. We are doing a "flag" football based philanthropy next semester too...

Ok after today:
Gamma Phi, Delta Gamma, LSG, and I think maybe Phi Sig were eliminated because they lost two games total. So that leaves AXO, Sigma Kappa, Alpha Phi and us, Chi Delta left.
We defeated AXO in the first game in OT and then proceeded to lose to Alpha Phi in our last game. BUt since we just now got into the loser bracket, we play the winner of the Sigma Kappa/AXO game (which is tomorrow). ANd if we win, we go for the championship. I am hoping and praying that we do because we have worked up to this point for 3 years now.
My poor great grand lil i think now has a black eye.

It's actually the first time LSG has participated. We have had other locals and multiculurals play as well. I think Omega Xi Phi, a multicultural local played a few years ago and won once. Sigma Omicron Pi, an asian interest sorority also teamed up with another sorority on campus (i forget know... it was 3 years ago.)
It all kinda depends on who can play and who Sigma Pi invites... which I assume is everyone. But not everyone has the time.

Acutally they are considered a national sorority founded in 1996 that has approximately 21 chapters. The Alpha chapter was founded at CSU, Sacramento. www.lambdasigmagamma.org/

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
woooohoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so final break down goes like this:
1) Chi Delta
2) Alpha Phi
3) Sigma Kappa
4) AXO
5) Phi Sigma Sigma
6) Gamma Phi Beta
7) Lamda Sigma Gamma
8) Delta Gamma
This is the first time that Chi Delta has placed 1st in this philanthropy. The championship game went into sudden death overtime and actually went scoreless. The game was won by whoever could make the most yards from the center in 4 downs. Otherwise the game would still be going on.
But it is SOOOOOOOOOO nice to see a change in rankings. And it was nice to see a championship before I left Sacramento.
