Conservative Texas Town Boycotts Girl Scout Cookies

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...cookie_boycott

OK, so I'm an old fashioned girl, but I don't really agree with the above. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

So you think that boycotting Girl Scout Cookies is far worse than having your parents throw you in an arranged marriage?

My parents are going to do no such thing. I'm the one who has suggested one, to their dismay. They've told me over and over that they're not going to do it.

This makes me want to go eat more cookies. God forbid them, rewarding a successful woman for making an impact in her community. What next, anarchy?

The whole thing is freaking ridiculous. And who suffers? The little girls.

The Girl Guide (i.e. Canadian) cookies are now made by Dare, but they were formerly made by Nabisco, who, if you trace the "lineage" through, is part of good ole' RJ Reynolds (yes, the tobacco company). So, yes, in theory, the Girl Guides were in bed with the devil, but no one really seemed to care. I have no idea why they switched to Dare but it was NOT because of the RJ Reynolds thing. If someone wants to look around www.girlguides.ca, I am sure you can find out more.

Sigh......

I told my parents that we have to go buy more Girl Scout Cookies. I hope the local Brownie troop is still selling them outside one of the local supermarkets. I already bought three boxes several days before this article came out!

do you think they'd be able to sell cookies to a young woman in boston? because i'd gladly buy a few boxes to support the two left in the troop!

That would be awesome if we could buy cookies from their troop. I'd pay for the shipping just to make a stand against the Bible Belt.

LOL One time these kids were selling candy bars in front of one of the college building for their HS basketball team. Nobody was buying and I felt so bad since they looked so sad. I asked if I could just buy the entire box. SOB, I swear I didn't realize they'd be that frigging expensive but I couldn't back out - and after eating so many peanut m&m's I HATE THEM!

No problem.

So hey what's so great about having sex with an 8 year old girl in the shower? Pull her hair back in the shower and she looks like an 8 year old boy
