Killer Films acquires Goat

Variety reports that Killer Film has optioned feature film rights for Brad Land's Goat, the controversial memoir about violence and fraternity hazing that was published in February by Random House. Christine Vachon, the out copresident of Killer, read the book on a flight to Los Angeles and immediately set out to buy the rights. The book tells the story of a brutal attack suffered by Land when he was 19 and how his desperate need to belong led him to pledge a fraternity at Clemson where he suffered barbaric hazing rituals. Vachon will be meeting with potential writers and directors over the next few weeks.
