Parent's Day

I asked this under the regular forums and didn't get much help, so I figured, I'd ask my sisters!!

We have parent's day in about 2 weeks and we always do the mother's pinning ceremony and I bought cool little pins for the mothers (we don't get the ones from national unless the sisters in the chapter buy them themselves). We have a bunch of dads coming and I found this really nice poem online that I wanted to read for them, but I was wondering if we should give them something....

What do you think? And if we do give them a little something, what do we give them?

-Sara

We are doing a parent's day and chapter birthday and are getting giving our dads a flower I think we decided... so that'll be cool.... I do think I've seen the tie tacks with the crest on them though... pretty nice if your dad is a "tie wearing" type of dad... but I know mine isn't ... do they have money clips ? that's more likely to be used by everyone...

Mine isn't either... Just thought I had seen them somewhere... Prolly in some catalog or something...

What about tee-shirts that say Dad of a Phi Sig... You don't have to have it too elaborate. My Lil got these cute shirts done for us at the swap meet for hella cheap and they look nice!!!

I donno... just throwing ideas out there....

Oh! What about a coffee mug??? You can get those really cute mugs and decorate them yourself, or go to the greek store and get them. I know my dad would love something like that (he's like addicted to coffee!)

one year we got a Phi Sigma Sigma Dad Thermos made for all our dads. My dad isn't a big coffee drinker but I see him using it sometimes (he likes to brag). The same year we had Phi Sigma Sigma Mom Flower Vases. I also have gotten my mom a Phi Sigma Sigma mom t-shirt. Bascially your parent's will love anything you give them.

how about golf balls? it would be to late to order some, but maybe you can decorate them yourselves. One year we took our parents out to dinner and we made certificates for each sister to give to her parents. Maybe you could do something like that. Or decorate picture frames and have the sister bring a pic of her and her dad, or take one that day with a palorid/digital camera.

have fun!!
