Continuous Open Recruitment

Hi ladies:

I am the Continuous Open Recruitment Chair for Epsilon Chapter this year and am currently finalizing spring informal recruitment plans! I was hoping maybe you all can give me some ideas on successful events/ways you were able to recruit girls, and get sisters hyped up to be involved!!!

Thanks!

Epsilon Love,

Diane

One of the things we did this year is taboo and fondue. It was great fun and an awesome way to get to know pnm's and our sisters even better.

My chapter is going thru redevelopment, all we've done this year is COR. So, I'm going off my calendar for last semester's events and for this semesters big Redevelopment Plan.

I don't know where you live, but we had a sand castle building competition which wasn't a cor event but a day at the beach could be fun. We had a trip to a haunted house before halloween (I know that's not very timely, but maybe for next year). We had an Ice skating party, which was great. we had aopirates, which wasn't a cor but you could make it into one. We also try to invite PNM's to PR stuff that you do. We put on an Ice Cream social at the house and they would be invited to that. You get the idea.

We have a whole plan for redevelopment but I don't want to put it on the board, so if you need more info, email me

I hope that helps.

Nu Beta does not need to COR because our numbers are so high this year but, we are going to have a few to pad our numbers (Panhellenic says its okay because they are resetting the Campus Total to probably 200 and we have just under 200 members). Anyway, we just invite PNMs to dinner at the house and then we have their AOII friend introduce them to the chapter. We also encourage sisters who have interested friends to invite them to the house for lunch or to watch movies at the house. We had problems in the past identifying who COR girls would be. However, we told our girls to look in all places possible, the dorms, their classes, church, student orgs, and other places on campus for women who might be interested in AOII. The dorm has proved to be a great way to find PNMs. We also have asked Panhellenic for a list of girls who dropped out of rush or who did not get placed on Bid Day (but who we did not release) and we use that list to find women. I always thought something that would be fun would be to go bowling or skating.

Good luck! Go AOII!

More ideas

First, have you talked to your advisers and your CNS? They have a wealth of resources on ideas for this!

I completely agree with combining events in order to accomplish the goal of recruiting - PR Events, Philanthropy, Chapter Dinner...)

Some specific COR Ideas:

• Night at the Oscars Each group down the red carpet is dressed by AOII Activity - the more cheese the better!Skits based on current movies, mock awards
• Ice Cream Social
• Casino Night
• Dream a little dream (decorate pillow cases for arthritis patients)
• Lip Sync
• AOII Luau
• 80's night (or 50's ... etc)

Also in planning - have you thought of doing a mini recruitment? Take three consecutive nights like Tues, Weds and Thurs - two themed parties on Tues and Weds and on Thursday do a Preference-type ceremony. This is perfect to do before Formal Pledging or plan to have TCPC schedule one following this.

Good Luck! And have fun!

Roses,
Heidi
