CD for Young Teen
Hey! I need an CD idea to buy Thursday for my young teen niece so I want to be careful about what I buy. I'm getting her a small present b/c her big sis turns 18 and I don't want her to feel left-out. I know she loves the Olsens but she prob has all those. Plus her bday is the middle of March so I need to start collecting ideas.
Thanks y'all!

Buy Hilary Duff's CD or the Clean Version of OutKast"s SpeakerBoxx/The Love Below.

I was going to suggest Hilary Duff too... Or if you think she might already have that, the soundtrack from the Lizzie McGuire movie is actually really good! I got it while I was at camp this summer for a camp-related thing, but I really enjoy it!

My ten year old daughter is into: Hilary Duff, Michelle Branch, and Avril Lavigne. Hilary's Metamorphosis CD is good as is the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack.
She freaked when I knew the words to The Tide is High. It's so funny when they think these songs are new!

I agree on the Hilary Duff. You could maybe go with Clay Aiken for clean. If she were younger, I would say the Cheetah Girls CD! My students love it...

Disney Maina 1 or 2 or Disney Pop Stars....it's all disney songs done by Hilary Duff (and Halie Duff on the second one), Smashmouth, NSync, Jessica Simpson, Daniel Beddingfield, Sarah Mclaughlin and those kind of people that kids like...I use it with my music therapy clients from ages 5-15, and they're all disney songs so they're familar....

Another good compilation album that I got for my 13 year old nephew for Christmas is the Smallville soundtrack. They play great tunes on that show, and they are all safe for young ears. Some of the songs area little old, but still enjoyable:
1. Save Me - Remy Zero
2. Inside Out - VonRay
3. Island In The Sun - Weezer
4. Superman - Five For Fighting
5. Nuclear - Ryan Adams
6. Lonely Day - Phantom Planet
7. Fight Test - The Flaming Lips
8. Don't Dream It's Over - Sixpence None The Richer
9. Wave Goodbye - Steadman
10. I Just Wanna Be Loved - AM Radio
11. Everything - Lifehouse
12. Time After Time - Eva Cassidy
Also, Kelly Clarkson's album is harmless, catchy pop music, if she doesn't have it already.

isn't there a pop group called jump 5? they perform at disney holiday parades all the time. they "sing" and dance and stuff. it's cheesy pop but someone younger might like it.

If you do that, buy Reuben Studderd's CD as well. really, you can't go wrong with both.
