NPC Representation at Missouri Valley Conference Schools

Okay. The Missouri Valley Conference has 10 schools: Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Wichita State, Indiana State, Northern Iowa, Southwest Missouri State, Evansville, Illionois State, and Southern Illinois at Carbondale.

There are 57 NPC chapters at the schools:
10 - Illinois State; 9 -- Indiana State; 7 -- Bradley; 6 -- Southwest Missouri; 5 -- Drake; and 4 each at Creighton, Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Evansville and Southern Illinois-Carbondale.

Gamma Phi Beta is at 6.

Alpha Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Zeta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa are each at 4.

Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Gamma, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Zeta Tau Alpha are each at 3.

Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and Delta Delta Delta are each at 2.

Alpha Xi Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu, Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Delta Tau, and Theta Phi Alpha are each at one.

Three NPC sororities are apparently not currently at any Missouri Valley Conference school: Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Delta Phi Epsilon.

The NPC representation in this conference seems substantially different from the Big 10, Big 12, and PAC 10 schools. Interestingly, more organizations seem to be represented, although there are fewer chapters total. Just thought it would be interesting to take a look at at set of schools that are not in a "Big Sports," professional-athletics-in-all-but-name conference.

By the way, for some reason (maybe my own inept search abilities) it seemed exceptionally difficult to get and check info on Creighton's sororities, so, as always, updates and corrections are encouraged.

And yes, "Missouri Valley" is a name that has more to do with history than with the location of a lot of the conference's present members.

I think the Chi Omega chapter at Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa) closed within the last 2 years. (At least I believe it was Chi Omega) There was a big story in the Des Moines Register about a sorority chapter at Drake closing.

Interesting! I believe the Drake Panhellenic information shows that the five NPC chapters currently there are Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Pi Beta Phi.

You are correct. The Chi Omega chapter at Drake has closed. Their demise was quite sad--some of it was a monetary thing (they have houses at Drake and from what I was told, the Chi Omega chapter needed a few house repairs among other things). My older sister was a member of the Chi O chapter there and was very disheartened to hear when they were closing--especially since she felt there were alums who could have helped their money woes if they had just asked...
