Duran Duran's Appreciation Thread
Darken the city night is awire steam in the subway earth is afire
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
Woman you want me give me a sign and catch my breathing even closer behind
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
In touch with the ground I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd and I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line in discord and rhyme I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like whine and I'm hungry like the wolf
Stalked in the forest too close to hide I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
High blood drumming on your skin it's so tight you feel my heat I'm just a moment behind
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
In touch with the ground I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Scent and a sound I'm lost and I'm found and I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme I howl and I whine I'm after you
Mouth is alive all running inside and I'm hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf, hungry like the wolf, hungry like the wolf
Burning the ground I break from the crowd I'm on the hunt I'm after you
I smell like I sound I'm lost and I'm found and I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's dicord and rhyme I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine and I'm hungry like the wolf
Burning the ground I break from the crowd I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Scent and a sound I'm lost and I'm found and I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme I howl and I whine I'm after you
Mouth is alive all running inside and I'm hungry like the wolf

Moving on the floor now, babe, you're a bird of paradise
Cherry ice cream smile, I suppose it's very nice
With a step to the left and a flick to the right
You'll catch the mirror way out west
You know you're something special and you look like you're the best
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twisting through the dusty land
And when she shines she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio, Rio, dance across the Rio Grande
That's all I have time for right now - Sorry!

I looooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeee Duran Duran!!
You've gone too far this time but I'm dancing on the valentine
I tell you somebody's fooling around with my chances on the dangerline
I'll cross that bridge when I find it another day to make my stand oh-woah
High time is no time for deciding if I should find a helping hand oh-whoa
Why don't you use it try not to bruise it buy time don't lose it
Why don't you use it try not to bruise it buy time don't lose it
The reflex is a lonely child just waiting by the park
The reflex is in charge of finding a treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a question mark.

I am so in on the D2 appreciation thread!!!!
Those words are all remainders
Echos growing in the heart of twilight
They lay back laughing at naievity's star
Awakened all those whispers
the dusty shadow of a passing favor
I wouldn't say that you were ruthless or right
I couldn't see from so far
Was I chasing after rainbows
one thing for sure you never answered when I called
And I wiped away the water from my face
to look through the eyes of a stranger
For rumors in the wake of such a lonely crowd
Trading in my shelter for danger
I'm changing my name just as the sun goes down
In the eyes of the stranger

AOIIAlum, you ROCK for posting that one!
I still *heart* D-Squared.
So soon just after you've gone
my senses sharpen
but it always takes
so damned long
before I feel how much
my eyes have darkened
Fear hangs a plane of gunsmoke
drifting in our room
so easy to disturb
with a thought
with a whisper...
with a careless memory
On the table
signs of love lie scattered...
and the walls break
with a crashing within
It's not as though--
as though you really mattered
but being close,
how could I let you go
without some feeling
some precious sympathy following
Fear hangs a plane of gunsmoke
drifting in our room
so easy to disturb
with a thought
with a whisper...
with a careless memory
I walk out into the sun
I try to find a new day
but the whole place
it just screams in my eyes
where are you now?
cuz I don't want to meet you
I think I'd die-
I think I'd laugh at you--
I think I'd cry--
What am I supposed to do,
follow you?
Outside the thoughts
come flooding back now...
I just try to forget you...
So easy to disturb
with a thought...
with a whisper...
with a careless memory...

Don't say a prayer for me now
Save it til the morning after!
My room was papered with Duran Duran pinups. I was in love with Simon LeBon and John Taylor back in junior high. I was very upset back in the summer of 1984 when the other girls in my group at day camp abandoned Duran Duran for Prince!

Thanks, Sistermadly.
Okay, truth be told...I'm still in love with John Taylor. Who knew how good he'd look once he finally cleaned up his act, really fell in love, and hit 40? Sigh.
Sooo, D2 appreciation thread readers, does anyone else know this one?

Dude, I lovedlovedloved Duran Duran!!! I was one of the freaks who loved Nick the best. Bought my first $15 tube of lipstick b/c of him (Yves St. Laurent #45 or 15-can't remember which anymore)--that was ALOT of money to a 14 year old girl in 1984!!! I was the biggest dork ever!!! Used to watch the video of their tour over and over and over....ahhhh, memories.
