The MIAKAS

I am a diva of Delta Sigma Theta but I have a situation that disturbs me that I want to discuss with the AKA's so I decided to bring it to your house.

Are you all aware of a group of guys in Birmingham, AL called the MIAKAS? I am not too clear on the whole story but being from Bama I know that there are a group of homosexual young men in B'ham AL that call themselves the MIAKAS. They supposedly want to be AKA's. They wear AKA nalia and have been seen at gay clubs throwing up signs and strollin with the nalia on. One guy told me he saw a group of them together in B'ham with the shirts on and driving the cars with the AKA tags on them. I personally think it is outrageous although I have never seen one of these guys myself but have heard from several different people about them.

I just want to know how many of you have heard about this and to make some of you aware of it. Greek Love

Thank you so much for informing me of that. I didn't even know what it stood for until your post and I just heard about it two weeks ago. I didn't mean to bring up any old business. So I guess everyone should disregard this topic.

I hope there isn't a problem with me addressing this issue, if so moderators let me know!!

However, I think there is a difference between the gay fraternity and these that are here in B'ham PrettyladyT.
The problem is serious here!!
These men believe that they are actual members of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

To address your question Tanzanite, Most people that are here in Birmingham are aware of them. I have seen them in person. They usually wear pink and green and wear frogs around their necks. They also do our call. I think some people are really SICK!!!
I have also heard that they have a similar problem with DST, I don't know what they call themselves. They are all located at Miles College. It has been a big deal here, it was even discussed on a local radio station. The men went down to the radio station to TRY and defend themselves and their point of view so the next day the radio station set up a time for the gay men and REAL members of Alpha Kappa Alpha to address the issue but the men never showed up.
I have never seen them wear anything that acually said AKA but I have heard the same things about the car tags and stuff.
Sorry for the long post but this issue REALLY REALLY disturbs me also!!
