Miss Auburn 2004-05 Is a Greek

"Miss Auburn" for the 2004-05 school year was recently chosen. She is Megan Lynch, a Tri Delta (president of her chapter). She will serve as official hostess for the university.

Is it safe to assume this is a fairly big deal at Auburn?

Sure it is! Unless things have changed, dozens of girls are put up for the honor and five finalists are chosen by judges. Then a campuswide vote is held after a few weeks of campaigning.

It gets kind of weird because a lot of times, sororities will advise their members to vote for an ABC because an ABC will give them the least competition in recruitment--it's prestigious to your chapter, after all, to have a Miss Auburn! But often the 5 finalists are all from strong sororities so it's a "lesser of 2 evils" thing. This happens with Miss Homecoming too.
