While Greek Chat is a great forum to express our ideas, thoughts and feelings about Alpha Delta Pi & Greek Life, it is also a PUBLIC forum where non-Greeks and non-ADPi's can read our ideas, thoughts and feelings about ADPi & Greek Life.
If you have a chapter situation that could paint the sorority or the chapter in a negative light to the external Greek and non-Greek community, please consider your audience and how they might view Alpha Delta Pi.
It is understandable that you are posting your concerns with the hopes that fellow sisters and Greeks will present you with ideas for resolution, but this is perhaps better left to posting on Pride Online (
www.alphadeltapi.org) OR by talking it over within your chapter, with an adviser, CPD, etc.
While there are chapters of every sorority out there who struggle here or there with a probation, hazing issue, recruitment issue, finances, retention, image challenges, etc., it also bears reminding that every time anyone posts specifics on Greek Chat about the problem and the sorority name/campus/person, they are 1) alientating potential PNMs to that chapter, 2) bringing a negative image to that campus Greek System, 3) perpetuating the problem by violating chapter confidentiality. This invites rumor and speculation.
Please continue to air your concerns and feelings about Greek Life on Greek Chat. But please find an alternate means (like an alternate screen name) so that at least the sorority and the campus remain anonymous if the topic is of a sensitive nature. I do want to say that I am very proud of my ADPi Greek Chatters for never verbally attacking other greek chatters when they challenge your opinion or say not-nice things.

I am proud to be in the company of such ADPi Ladies!
In Alpha Delta Pi, we undertake the lifetime obligation to keep sorority business within the sorority. Please be mindful of this obligation when using the Internet as a sorority resource for collegiate and/or alumnae matters.
Help us preserve the privacy, integrity and sensitivity of chapters who are experiencing growing pains. At the same time, we will find the answers to our questions, but we will be able to achieve this in such a way that it doesn't further injure the chapter, the sorority or the campus image.
