Question AGD Expansion

hi, my cousin was in alpha gamma delta at fsu and absolutely loved her time and experiences with her sorority, and i would love to have the same type of experience with alpha gamma delta
i was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to go about starting an alpha gamma delta chapter
i go to ucsd and there are no chapters in the area, but there is an alumnae chapter
is alpha gamma delta expanding at the moment? who would i have to contact in order to try to this?
thanks for anything you can tell me!
clare

Hi Clare,

As with most other expansion plans, information is usually rare and hard to come by in order to ensure a good presentation with the campus Panhellenic and everyone else involved with expansion.

I know with our last colonization at Chapman, most of us didn't even know that AGD was expanding until it was announced that AGD was one of three groups presenting in front of Chapman Panhellenic.

Expansion is an often long and tiring process, that's why it doesn't happen too often The expansion team usually consists of members of IHQ, International Council, the Volunteer Service Team, and nearby alumnae groups. It's their hard work and determination that allows the Fraternity to have a successful colonization.

2004 is our Centennial year, and I am unsure if there will be any Centennial chapters in the near future. But good luck to you!

Hi, sdirishgirl14! It's so nice to hear the wonderful comments about Alpha Gam! I am an active member of our southern California alumnae groups, and we do have quite a few members! We recently started a chapter at Chapman University in Orange - that would be the closest collegiate chapter to you in San Diego.

I'm not too familiar with UCSD's Greek system, but you can always go to your College Panhellenic to find out what expansion opportunties might come up in the future. NPC has a very formal expansion process that begins at the university and Panhellenic level. Best of luck to you!

Also, even if expansion isn't in the cards right now, you can always try to join the AGD sisterhood as an alumna initiate after you're finished with college. Good luck to you!
