V-Day Gift for Roommate?

Hi all. Some of you know this already, but I've moved out of my old place and am renting a room from a friend for about six weeks.

Before I moved in (on Monday) we were more acquaintances than friends. He is a college buddy of BF's. Super nice guy, doesn't go out much during the week, pretty conservative. Wasn't into GLO in college (his school didn't have social fraternities, only service).

I'd love to get a little something for him for V-Day but I don't want it to be taken the wrong way. In that its a romantic overture or that I think he's "one of the girls."

Anyone have a tip for me? Guys, I'd especially appreciate your input. Though I'm sure Rudey will chime in regardless

Maybe don't give it to him on V-Day. If it's a purely plutonic gesture and you're afraid he might get the wrong idea (because let's face it, boys aren't the smartest creatures on the planet). Give it him a couple days after. And just say, hey I bought you this gift just to say thanks for letting me move in here for the time being.

As for gift ideas. What's he into. Is there a CD he wants, maybe a dvd, maybe a gift certificate to some place?
