All righty, so I'm the new (sort of) Vice President in charge of Scholarship for my school's Panhellenic. Yes, I know the constitution says it's a scholarship DIRECTOR but we've always called it a "VP," let me have my glory.
Anyway...our first roundtable is coming up, and I'd love to have some definite topics to discuss with chapter scholarship directors. One of my personal passions is raising the GPA of our newly initiated members--many across the board don't make grades. I know much of this has to do with it being their first semester in college, coupled with all the activities and experiences involved with pledging a chapter. However, I think there's more we can do to help our newest sisters keep their grades going strong though this difficult first semester.
Does anyone's chapter have specific activities or programs that they do? Test files and study buddies have been suggested here at school; but it would take a while to build up a test file, since our chapter at least doesn't have one, and study buddies often turn into social buddies. Any ideas that have worked? Unique or creative scholarship tips? Scheduling fewer activities, or making activities that center around scholarship?
I'd love to hear ideas from my sisters across the country!
