CLEP Exams

Ok, so I recently found out that I am required to take an American History class as part of the requirements for my Elementary Education degree. I love history but do not have time in my schedule to take an American History class, so I want to take the CLEP exam for American History II (1877 to present). has anyone ever taken a CLEP exam and how was it, hard/easy, confusing/strait forward, etc. If anyone has any info, please let me know! I have already purchased a study book for it, but I would like an actual person's experience with it.
If you have taken the American History II (1877-present), that would be bonus points for me! But any experience with CLEP would also be helpful!
Thanks, please... someone respond!!
Woohoo, my 100th post!!
